drogekloot,
To add to your Dead Player Recovery Guide post, you may have trouble finding the right firmware for your player as it uses the ATJ2051 chipset. Most of tthe firmware you will find on the net is for the ATJ2085 chipset. I have done a quick search on the net and can not find any 2051 firmware that may help.
Have you tried contacting your supplier to see if they can send you a copy?
Also check the mini-CD that came with your player occasionally a copy of the firmware is included.

Thank you Tadad1.

I tried all of them. I've contact the supplier of my mp4 player, he cant help, checked the mini cd, search with google (found some but didn't work). I found one but this one is getting the blue screen flashing and activates the mp4 player if a usb storage disk. I think this is a step in to the right direction? Because all other programs showed only a blue screen. Its the firmware called: hy875c. I tried it in combination with 14 dump files, with no succes. So if somebody reads this and using the hy875c firmware and got a dump files working with it, mail me please. Otherwise i have to wait on my other found sollution (i ordered the same nano look again and it will arrive about 1 month).

Some other questions:
Is it important to use a firmware from a 512mb on a simulair 512mb mp4 player or can you also use a simulair mp4player 1gb firmware instead?

After formatting your mp4player, what kind of screen you have to see. Is it the sand glass in screen or just a flashing blue screen (loading) is a good sign. This was not very clear in you description to recover a dead mp4player.

Thank you for all your help. Ofcourse wenn i fix my one i will also post the firmware here. ops:

drogekloot, When your player can no longer be detected by Windows or the MP3 Ugrade Tool The only thing you can do is reset the chip by shorting it as outlined in the Dead Player Recovery Guide.
This then puts your player into recovery mode and Windows will recognise it as an ADFU Device. At this point the player will only accept a full version firmware it will not load a dump. The Full Version firmware does not need to be exact for your player and as I said in most cases it will not recover your player but it will put the player into a state where it will now accept dump files. It does not matter if the screen is blue or black as long as the player becomes recognised as a removable device and the upgrade tool will load dumps without problem.
The true full recovery is then only possible if you find the right firmware for your player, this can mean many attempts with different firmware. I killed one of my players over 70 times before I found a firmware that worked.

If during this proccess your player stops being recognised again you must start from scratch and short the chip again, load a full firmware and then continue trying dumps.

I have found that it makes no difference what size player the dump came from. The firmware of a 2GB player could still recover a 512MB player. the only thing you need to watch is screen size for obvious reasons the dump off a 1.8 inch lcd player will not work on a 1.5 inch lcd player.

If found different full firmware files who after shorting out the chip (made a tool from wire and 2 needles) puts the player in recovery mode so i can see it if an ADFU Device.

I tried every 1,5 inch screen dump.bin no one worked with my player. I noticed one thing by using a file called moddedfirmware, by uploading it their was played a few seconds a number from the player (very weird). Every other dump only show a blue screen.

Maybe some knows another dump.bin in combination of a complete firmware i recover my player with:
- full 3.5.35
- hy875c
- 3.5.37 v2.1b FM for recovery
- T18

A trick i learned was also wenn the computer doesnt find the player if a afdu file after uploading a dump. Turn of the player and disconnect the usb cable and turn it on an connect the usb cable again. This makes the player visable for your computer if a ADFU device.

I think my problem is, i've got a very rare player and the big problem is the display driver ST7536. I hope someone can help me find the correct dump.bin in combination with the a full firmware.

No you have to keep on trying full firmwares since you find the one that makes you able tosee it as a MAss storage device
Keep on trying DuDE
