Recommendation: Try different MP3 Player Utilities

The version of the Mp3 Player Utilities may affect on the firmware processing of your player, for example.

when I killed my player i tried ALL the firmware of this forum, and i have no results. First i used the 3.xx version and showed a strange error "unknow file error"

then i tried with the 4.02 version, and showed "firmware process sucess, program will exit" but the player continue dead.

but when i tried with the file "MP3_Player_Utilities_4_05_wwww[1].mympxplayer.org" i mean the 4.05, the software can be downloaded in this wondeful forum, so... when i tried with this version, the program sucessfully recovered my player!

at the end, i have tried so many times with the correct firmware, and the player wasn't live, not because the was the incorrect firmware, was because weren't the correct software.

now my player is live and playin' thanks to you, god bless YOU all!
remember... patience is the key... that's for sure!

That is a very interesting recommendation.

I will put it as a sticky to see if it helps others.

If anyone else is having problems, please try nickyblast's suggestion and see if that works.

The various versions of the MP3 Player Utilities tool are available for download from this site by clicking on the [Downloads] link on the left hand side menu bar.

Then go to [Tools] then [MP3 Player Utilities].

Re: Recommendation: Try different MP3 Player Utilities

The one that worked for me is 1.46...

Make sure to look at your driver file AdfuUpdate.inf and see if your VID and PID reflect your unit if not just change it to the correct one of your unit and save it (use Notepad)

usually the one you need to change is PID and look as: ff51 or ff66 etc...and that is the one you change.

VID is usually 10d6

Do not change any thing but this...you need to do that on the top and at the end.

Hope that will help.

MPxIRAQ try this site:

How do I Install the ADFU USB Driver 2.0 into my Dead MP4

Nickyblast,
How did you pass the recovery procedures up to the stage of installing th ADFU Driver 2.0 cos that's what's holding me up till now, when i connect my dead Sony(but XINTAIMp4 player that can play .amv files) my computer recognizes it as USB Device on the system tray then when i check the device manager it is listed with a question mark under Other Devices, when i click on properties up to the point of Have disk and select the adfuupdate.inf in the WINDOWS folder it keeps displaying "Select Device" and under that is shows "the specified location does not contain info about your hardware" how do i pass this place cos this is what's dragging me behind.I can't update it with a firmware if i can't pass this point, please anybody else can help, :(

Jupya 14th Apr 2009 7:57 am

hi,
my logik 1002 2gb mp3 player (sigmatel 3507 chipset) started to dont get recognized by the pc but as stmp3500, so I couldnt access and/or download/upload the contents (ie mp3 files, wav voice recording). found and tried some logik firmware for sigmatel 35xx chipsets, but no significant changes (player and voice recorder were working but still no way to let the device communicate with the pc and download my files). So I downloaded and installed Trekstor i.beat censo version 2.620.571 thinking that might work as maybe compatible. The device was finally recognized by the pc. By mistake I also reformatted the device, and when I unplugged it and tried to turn it on as mp3 player, there was a bad change. flashing display but no more chances to access the usual menu and start to enjoy some music.
Now I realized that I am in the situation described in the hint on http://mympxplayer.org/viewtopic.php...ish_rel=-10000
Now is there anything it can be done to sort the problem, meaning got my sigmatel chipset recognized as such (and eventually given and install the original sigmatel firmwre) and the mp3 player working again? Any aimed suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Are you sure to look at your driver file AdfuUpdate.inf and see if your VID and PID reflect your unit if not just change it to the correct one of your unit and save i?

devidarla 8th Mar 2012 10:29 am

hi, tks for the reply.

I wasnt able to locate the file AdfuUpdate.inf, so not sure how to check the vid/pid no. to be honest I dont even know what was the version of the original firmware. I am starting to think that the situation is hopeless :(
