MP4 Problems
Hi
I bought an Mp4 player 4 gig off ebay and after three days it stopped working. When I switch it on the screen just shows an hour glass on blue background and when I connect to the pc it is in afdu mode. I have tried the dead player guidelines but all the firmware I have tried just stops downloading when I use upgrade. If I turn the player off when it is upgrading it says Invalid firmware? I have tried to check the chip number but the chip as nothing written on it? how can I do this ? Can anyone help in any way ? Thank you P.S In the suppliers read first file it says this "REMARK: Please do not use the MP3 Player Disk Tool, which is not properly developed and it will destroy the system file inside the MP3. It also resulted an insufficient memory and disk error." Does this sound like a fake? |
mark2, The reason that the supplier does not want you to use the disk tool is because the player has a memory chip that is hacked to read larger than it's real size. Using the Disk Tool will remove the hack and expose the players true size and his fraud. This is likely why your player crashed in the first place.
If your player is recognised as an ADFU device it is in recovery mode and you need to load a full version firmware as it will not accept a dump. Once you have loaded a full version you can start trying dump files to find one that suits your player. |
Re: MP4 Problems
Thank you for the reply. I think the same as you and I am trying to take this up with Ebay the only thing is I cannot find the chip model to confirm. I have only just bought the player so I suspect that the f/w is 9.0.43/9.0.48 and this does not appear to be available as yet ( I have emailed the supplier to send it to me) but up to now he says he cannot find it. He did offer to replace the player if I sent it back but I think I have invallidated that by opening it up to check the chip. Now I think I should persue him for selling a fake (If I can prove it.)

mark2, The memory chip will be the largest on the board, the cpu will be the next biggest.
Sometimes the markings are very slight and you may have to veiw the chip at an angle to get reflective light to show the markings. |
Thank you ..ok I have the chip number now it is ATJ2091H the letters underneath that number are F9184FA CAG woukd you know what that chip is ?
|
mark2, The ATJ2091 is the cpu, an ACTIONS chip so it is likely that your player does used a 9.0.XX series firmware. Possibly the 9.0.48 as the 9.0.43 is generally used on the ATJ2097 or the CTW500 chips. If so sadly recovery is not an option at the moment.
Any luck on the memory chip details? I think your best bet is to verify the memory size and start a claim. |
Hi ..I think the memory chip is SP3767HN
|
mark2, No that is the FM Radio chip. The memory chip is much larger. If you look at this image the memory chip is the big one marked Samsung.
http://www.mympxplayer.org/image-asp152.html It may even be under the LCD. |
ok well I have had a look and yes it must be under the LCD but I think I would have to take the whole board out to get at it ...Not sure If I know how? ...I just broke the negative wire off with opening it up so many times but luckily I have soldered it back and it is working lol

Ok I got it Samsung 640 K9LAG08U0M PCBOBoard as a number S102V10 DING if that means anything .

Re: MP4 Problems
I have checked it out at samsung here [web:1fbe163c25]http://www.samsung.com/Products/Semiconductor/Support/Label_CodeInfo/Nand_Flash.pdf[/web:1fbe163c25]"AG" is the memory density stands for 16Giga (16x10^9), the next 2 numbers "08" stands for 8-bits, so together they mean 16Gigabits. Divide it by 8 (1Byte=8bits), and you get 2GigaBytes.
So 2GB. |
Mark2, 2GB indeed, if you can, get some photo evidence of the chip that shows serial number and any markers on the player that indicate the size the player was sold as ie. a 4GB sticker. PayPal can be a bit pissy about 3rd party verification of the fact. If you overwhelm them with evidence in your claim they are generally pretty prompt to act.
Have a look at this post and the comment by "dkjab" http://www.mympxplayer.org/paypal-di...ghlight=paypal |
I will take it up with paypal I just checked the sellers other items for sale and he has emptied his shop on ebay and as no items for sale currently (yesterday he had hundreds) seller was wallpaperstore
|
mark2, Sounds like he has done a bunk, move fast.
|
I just tried to open a dispute with Paypal and it says "This seller is unable to respond to resolution center" then its says "Escalate to claim" when I do it says it is having tempory dificulties try again later. A bit dodgy I think

Just received this from seller "This mp4 is combined with 2 pcs. 2GB nano flash and one of the nano flash may burned or disk error. It may happened by the damage during delivery or improper use. So, you can return to us with full refund or we give you partial refund from the wrong 2GB. In accordance with your case, we suggest to make GBP10.00 refund, pls confirm by return, thanks!
LIES |
mark2, Who do they think they are kidding. Go for the full refund and tell them you want shipping included.
|
Hi
I have just received a FULL refund from paypal and also an email from them with the sellers explanation which says "We are deeply sorry about it!It is the peak season during the Christmas and we may send you the item with wrong capacity by mistake. Please return the whole package! thanks!" Needless to say I have told him that the player can be collected at his expense. Now I have to consider what to say in the feedback I leave him. |
i searched my samsung serial number on google and found this page. i can't figure out which chip type i have because easy chips is being stupid
