mymp4 , while the player is connected to the computer via USB, are you able to see the player's drive on explorer? Also, are you able to copy/transfer files to and fro the player from the computer?

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

mymp4 , try these few steps and see if they work.
1. Use all the other USB ports that your computer have.
2. Try connecting on another computer instead.
3. Try using another USB cable.

It seems to me that your USB cable might be faulty. And you player is only able to charge, but not connect to the computer.
