how much damage is caused when dropping your mp4 player?

i dropped my mp4player on the cement, five feet in the air.. and it suddenly stopped working. Im try to back in my old full firmware, but when i switch it on and off i get a black screen, and sometimes if im lucky i could see the hour glass, nothing else happens after that. the hourglass is the farthest i can go. so.. when doing the dead recovery, will it make a change? or will i have to buy another one?

vtdkny, It is hard to say if the Dead Player recovery Guide will work on your player. You may have damaged it in some way but if it will not work and you can not connect it to your PC you have nothing to loose by trying.

i tried to turn it on today and it got passed the hour glass, it also can connect with my computer for an amount of time before the player restarts again. it restarts automaticly when im listening to music and when i put the player in my pocket.

im am going to try the recovery guide some time at the end of the day. hopefully doing this a couple times will fix it or something.
