I too have the same chip, nano look alike that I bought from ebay, it was shipped from Hong Kong, Hong Kong. I made the mistake of not doing a backup before trying to update the firmware, it said 4GB on the back of the player on a sticker, but it was 2GB inside. I have the atj2093h chip inside with a samsung memory chip, it will show up as a removable drive now, but blue screen on the player, it is white the screen size is 1.5 inches
it had the 9.0.48 firmware on it before it died.

I am just waiting for someone to upload the firmware so I can use my MP$ player again.

Well, since nobody is going to ever upload the Firmware that so many of us require. I purchased another 2GB i-Platinum MP3/MP4 player from Uxcell, identical to my dead one. It should arrive in about 2 weeks. So, in approx 2 weeks and 1 day I will upload a working firmware for this unit. Looks like my child will be getting a MP3/MP4 player for her birthday. Will post a reply when the player comes in, and keep you posted.

PEACE!!! :!:

WhatTheHeck. I may be new to this whole mp4 player thing but from what I gather from the rest of the forum it is not yet possible to extract firmware from devices with the 9.0.48 (or 9.0.50) firmware. I managed to do it with my player (9.0.48 firmware) but s1fwx won't repair the dumped firmware, therefore making it unusable.

The way I look at it is that the firmware was programed into the player when it was shipped from the factory. If they are able to upload the firmware, I will be able to figure out how to extract it and make it useable. May end up having to write the program to extract the firmware, but anything is possible.

Or Maybe I'll end up with 2 dead MP3/MP4 players... who knows....

Oh,it's so nice to see that im not alone on this world with this white ipod looking little freak that i wanted to smash so many times. And we all feel the same..But I got it as a present.
So i would love to upload my firmware for anyone who needs it if you tell me how to
Its called Lisong from Wilson Co Ltd
LSD_9301_10
9.0.48

Right now its working "Ok" although it was 4GB untill 2 days ago when i did a format and seem to have messed up something cause it stuck at 2GB.Its particularly interesting cause before i formated i had exactly 2Gb data on it ,and yeah it said it was half full.
Does anyone have any suggestions how to get back my 4Gb,the only advantage that this little bastard has?(had)
Oh,and any idea if i could change this toy looking silly theme it shows?
thanks so much

Mp RipOff , right now the v9.0.48 is not supported by the firmware extraction tool, so you can't extract a working firmware from it.

Without this working firmware dump, you can't theme your player. By using someone else's themed firmware of similar version would most likely brick your player.

So anything to do with firmware, leave it as it is, and enjoy your player until the tool supports your version.

Regarding the memory issue, if you had performed the Memory Hack Removal using Disk Tools, then 2GB is your actual real capacity.

The memory hack was made to fool the Windows OS, so that it thinks that it is 4GB, when it actually is only 2GB.

To further verify, you can open up the player and check the memory chip's serial number against the manufacturer's (Samsung or Hynix) website.

Thanks for the quick answer,

and wow!!I didn't think of that!I mean for first look i thought it was a toy with the funny 4Gb sign stuck on the back so i was really surprised when connecting to the computer (succeded after a few hours of struggleing) it also said 4Gb. By now its well clear it has only 2Gb..
After your response immediately i took it apart, not only to take revange on the little bastard but to check the memory chip and here it is people:
Samsung
K9LAG08U0M-PCB0

I couldn't find it on Samsung's website only on some chinese retailer's one and it refered to it as a 2Gb mem chip.
This is the story.

By the way, honestly the crap quality, the tasteless and inconvinient software design and all the bugs it has are much more annoying issues for me then the memory scam.Except the fact that thats what takes most people's attention and attracts them to buy it.

Thanks for the help again and if i can help a little considering this scam issue then let me know.

Please someone make it possible to change this silly ugly theme in my version as well cause it irritates me so much..

rahulmig , if you had formatted using the MP3 Utilities Disk Tool, then your player had been originally hacked. It is a 1GB chip hacked to show 4GB. There is no way of regaining that lost 3GB, as the chip physically is only 1GB.

If your player now cannot be detected by MP3 Utilites Upgrade Tool, then you will need to follow the Dead Player Recovery Guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/dead-play...ide-vt567.html

If it can be detected by the Upgrade Tool, then you will need to try every v9.0.xx series firmwares in the downloads section here http://www.mympxplayer.org/actions-9...mare-dc37.html
As there are very limited v9.0.xx series firmwares, i'll suggest you try every single firmware.
