JayD, You have been scammed mate, these players will only support a maximum of 2GB memory. I would say your player has a 128MB chip that was hacked to read as 8GB. When you formatted the player you removed the hack and now the chip is reporting it's true size.

Have a look through the forums you will find may posts about hacked players. Sadly there is nothing that can be done to fix the problem.

JayD*, What is the serial number of your memory chip?

ATJ 2051 H

JayD*, That is the cpu serial, the memory chip is the largest chip on the mainboard.
You may also have trouble finding firmware for the ATJ2051 there are not many around and most that I have seen are for Pen Drive style MP3 Players with small monochrome screens.

I'm sorry for the wrong serial..
In the largest it's written:

HY 27 UF 08162 M
TPCB 633AA
M8SAJ8081

It's possible?
there are no others visible

JayD*, The Hynix HY27UF081G2M memory module is a 1Gigabit or 128MB chip.

Yes is the same name on my chip, but hour that I know all these info, as I make to restore the memory to its real dimension?

JayD*, Your player never really had 8GB of memory. The chips true size is 128MB but it had been programmed to give a false reading of 8GB.
When you formatted the player you deleted the programming and your chip now reads it's true size of 128MB less about 20MB set aside for your players firmware.
It is not possible to return the chip to read as 8GB.
