Default Problem with playing .amv Movie

Good day all,

Rilaard here. This is my first post to this forum.

I am using the v3.5.37 firmware Mp3 player. I have successfully converted my .mpg movie files to .amv and is playable on my desktop. However, it says "Format Error" when i tried to play it on my Mp3 player. I'll appreciate if I can get it fixed ASAP. Thanks!

*PS I am using the AMV Converter v3.68 and the resolution of my converted .amv file is 128x96. And I have tried uploading the movie file on other v3.5.37 firmware Mp3 player and it works.

Warmest Regards,
R i L a a r d

rilaardho , have you tried with other amv converted video files?
If the problem still occurs, try formating your player if you haven't done so yet. The guide is Here.

I'm having exactly the same issue and the mp4 players gonna be an xmas present, so i don't wanna hand it over not working. However on a similar note i don't want to format it just incase it buggars the firmware.

I got the 3.68 with the player...but didn't work, so then i tried the 3.57, then the 4.00 and still i get the FormatError when I try play them on it.

If you can help in any way please let me know as I've only 3 days left!! Eeeeeek

Thankyou in advance

Law

s222law, Generally lowering the frame rate on your conversions will fix the format error warnings.

I have 6 1.8 players and 5 will handle video at the high frame rate setting (16fps) but the 6th I have to lower the frame rate to Medium (12fps) to stop the format error problem.

If you play the sample video on your PC with the AMV player and right click on the picture as it is playing select properties and it will tell you the size and frame rate of the video. Try and match these with your conversions.

rilaardho , the format process is only done halfway.
You need to repeat the process again and ensure now that the slider in the Partition & Encrypt tab is slide to the left.
Then click on Start again.

rilaardho , when you plug in the player to your computer, how many removable drives does explorer show?
Try it in both Multi Drive and Normal Only. This can be set via System menu >> Online Mode.
Does 2 drives appear in Multi Drive?

i switched it to multi-drive. 2 drives were shown G: 17mb & J: 90mb.
i tried the formatting method but still were shown 2 drives when i connect my mp3. And the mp3 still working with the 17mb drive space.
When i use the mp3 player disk tool, the Disk total capacity were 108mb. Does that mean my player max. is 108mb instead of 4gb?
