[solved] Displays only busy sign ???
 

I've a chinese Sony 256 MB Mp4 Player. It does not open normally
but gets hanged displaying "busy sign".It does not get detected by the
computer as a removable disk. What should I do? It requires 3.2.16 firmware.It also got affected by a virus.Please help me as soon as possible.I think you have confronted this type of problem before so plz tell me the soln for it as soon.

Sachit, If your player is not connecting you do not have many options other than shorting the memory chip as outlined in the Dead Player Recovery Guide. It is the only way I know of to get the player recognised by Windows again.
It is hard to say what caused the problem in the first place but if you have a backup of your firmware you have a pretty good chance of recovering it unless there is a hardware fault.

If you do not have a backup then after following the DPRG you will just have to try all the 3.2.16 firmware we have on site and perhaps the 3.5.35 which may also work with your player until you find one that suits your player.

I did the dead recovery of my mp4 player.But this time,it displayed an error "Invalid Upgrade Firmware file!"...I was suprised becoz I know it's the right firmware for it.I've done this before.I've even re-installed that same firmware several times.
The screen doesn't shows black screen but shows busy sign all the time.Plz help me as soon as possible.

sachitmaskey , you might need to try using other versions of MP3 Utilities. Uninstall your current version and install another version.

Some members in here reports that it helps to overcome the errors.

I think this not goin to work 4 my mp4 player.I am badly watin for a better soln now....plz help me

It still displays the busy watchglass in the screen.It doesn't accept the right firmware dump file during upgarding process.I don't know what to do? You can only help me ....

sachit, You have not repaired the firmware. You need to rename the file dump.bin, place it in the s1fwx folder and run the repair.bat. Once you have done this you should be able to load the firmware to your player providing it is connecting properly.

I did as u said bt it didn't solve the problem.I kept the firmware file in the s1wfx folder & repaired it.A file "dump.bi$" appeared which I later I later repaired into dump.bin.Then I tried to re-intasall the firmware bt same prob occured "invalid Firmware file ugrade !" .It still displays the busy sign.What sud i do now?Help me !

How would I remove that busy sign on the screen?Why does it says invalid firmware file upgrade error while it is the right firmware & I've even repaired it using sw1fx....help me

After a repair the unrepaired dumpfile is called dump.bi$, the file you want to flash is the repaired dump.bin. Do not rename dump.bi$, this is your old file from the player, file is in a non-repaired state. Just to keep save as a backup. But only if it was an original working dump of course.

sachit, when you repair the firmware you end up with 2 files 1 is dump.bi$ which is the original unrepaired firmware and a new dump.bin which is the new repaired firmware.
If you are trying to load the dump.bi$ file you are still trying to load the unrepaired firmware.

Use the new dump.bin.

Yes I tried to upgrade with dump.bin which was repaired and also dump.bi$ but it didn't work...help me...

Other player are dead displaying a black screen but my player is dead displaying a busy sign all the time.

Problem solved

My problem is solved now n I thanks u all guys 4 makin it a success.I tried it to repair it since months n today i did it.I never gave up my hope n kept fightin n today i won it.U guys really helped me...

How i solved the prob:

I upgraded my mp4 with wrong firmware then black screen apeared then i followed dead player recovery process.After that i installed the right firmware that i used to.And Bingo !!! it's not virus or any format error it was firmware error.Thanks once agan...
