Dead player

Hi! My mp4 player was dead... no display at all! It was recognized in windows like an adfu device so I've been able to update de the firmware with MP3 Player Upgrade Tool with this firmware 3[1].5.37v2.1b_FM.zip. It seem to have worked fine but the player still does not work and now the LCD is white blue wich seems to be better cause there was no light at all before the upgrade. But now when I try to update with another firmware the mp3 player tools says... Waiting for connecting device... and... Device switching failed try to reconnect..
I can see Removable Disk G: in My Computer.
What else can I try ??

hudon77 , you might want to try with another version of MP3 Utilities. Uninstall the old version and install the new one in.

If it's still the same, then you might need to repeat the Dead Player Recovery Guide again, which means shorting the pins again.

Where can I download a new version ?
Shorting the pins only get the LCD to flicker and windows seem to refresh my usb device. I even tried to uninstall de mass strorage device but it doesnt work.. I can't get AFDU device back....
Can my mp3 player be really dead ?

Re: Dead player

hudon77 , there is version 3.68 Here.
version 4.03 Here.
version 4.05 Here.
version 4.07 Here.
Try these few.

Also try connecting your player to other USB ports that you never used before for shorting of the pins.

Re: Dead player

Is there a particular firmware I should try ?

lattesurf 28th Dec 2006 10:24 pm

hudon77 , just try every firmware in the downloads section. Even if the version is different from yours. Example yours is 3.5.37, but try the 3.5.35 too.

The more firmwares you try, the better chance for your player to be recovered.
