Tried to upgrade FW to version 9.0.48 from 9.0.43, but unsuccessful (black screen only)... Tried to reflash with any full firmware from this site but unsuccesful too. Maybe somebody who has player like that can send me full dump of FW to 962386[at]gmail.com or upload it anywhere?
Original FW was: 9.0.43 CTW500_s75 10/10/2006. Player has FM, 1 game - tetris, music, amv video.

AlexW , i found a few 9.0.43 firmwares that might be helpful to you.
This version seems to be for a 1.5" screen Here.

lattesurf, thanks, but there`s something wrong with firmware for 1.5" LCD (that kind a player i have - forgot to mention it) because i couldn`t flash it to my player. Tried different versions MP3 tools: 4.05, 4.0, 3.68, Product Tools 4.19. All utilities say that "wrong firmware file" or something like that. Keep waitin` for any help
AlexW , it is likely that firmware is not compatible for your player. As the 9.xx series firmwares are relatively new, you might need to wait for sometime before more versions are uploaded by other members.

Also i`d like to add some info about my "half-dead" player: on the retail baox there`s a sticker with model number HM-1077. But it DOESN`t have any maindoard numbers on PCB.
