Default 4gb Nano Clone with a restarting problem

Like the title suggests, I have a 4gb nano clone with a problem...it constantly restarts. As soon as I took it out of the box and turned it on, the problem started. It goes through to the menu (sometimes) then restarts. I thought it might have been a static electricity/short problem, so i removed it from it's metal case and it still does it.

Any ideas ? If I could keep it on long enough, I'd be able to post some specs....all I know is that it uses a 9.0.50 firmware and is claiming to be 4gb (cant verify it just yet)

I'd love any kind of help guys and girls....I'd hate to have to send it back to the vendor, as I know from past experience I'd just get the run around and no refund

I need the same thing too. My chip is a ATJ2091N, 4gb, 1.5 inch screen, has that plant or flower boot up screen. Mine can play mp3,amv,voice record,fm radio, games. This is the first day I had it and it's screwed up already. I read the manual and it said something about updating firmware to make it work properly now its junk. Been up all night. I know everything about it now. Just need the firmware to bring it back. I've emailed the seller on ebay and even other ebay members that bought from same seller to ask for firmware. If I get it I'll post it somewere.

Nevermind....I fixed the problem, and made a new one for myself

I opened up the chi-pod, and removed the circuit board from the case and I found some dodgy soldering work where the battery connect.....I resoldered it and now the chi-pod turns on and stays on, which lead me to my next problem.

Since it was running again, I decided to format the "4gb" to see what I actually had, and wouldn't you know it ? It was a 1gb mp4 player that had been hacked to 4gb.

HINT: When you hook your "4gb" mp3/4 player up to your comp for the first time, and it shows up as 2 seperate removable disks, most likely you have a hacked player. Mine came up as a 3.99gb drive and a 4mb drive....as sson as i removed the 4mb partition, the player became it's regular 1gb self again. E-britian was the person I bought it from on ebay, and judging by the posts about him in the blacklist forum, I'm not the only one he has scammed. I have left bad feedback and I'm persuing a refund via paypal

Are you serious. Mine is doing that now. There's a 4gig and a 2mb showing up as 2 different drives on my pc. Mine doesn't work but I can still look at it when it is hooked up via usb. How did you get rid of the partition. I'm gunna file a complaint to if I find out the same thing has been done to mine.

there is a propgram called "disk tools"....it should be on the cd that came with your chi-pod, but if it isn't there, you can download it from the files section of this site.

the program is used for formatting your player, and it also has a tool for partioning the drive....just move the slider to 0 and it will remove that 2mb partition.....as soon as you remove it, format the drive and it will reveal the true size of your player.....or you could just take the back off your player and look at the part number of the chip and google it.....luckily for me, my chip had a "1gb" sticker on it....but i still formatted the drive to verify it.

at least the player functions as it should, but it is not the 4gb i paid for......i sent e-britian a lovely email and i'm waiting for his/her response lol

Holy $hit. Mine is not even a gig. I'ts like 961.7mbs. I'm not gunna send him a letter yet cause I already gave him good feedback and he hasn't gave me any. I went to look at his auctions and what do you know all his nano clones are 1gbs now. What a bunch a scams. I'm gunna dispute with paypal that's for damn sure.

Skunk:

What you may want to do is first use the DISK TOOL for formatting. But encrypt it first when you format by bringing the slider all the way to the right. Don't use a password, leave that area unchecked.

Once that is done, then slide the slider all the way left and reformat unencrypted.

Use the low level formatting.

Your not going to get a full 1GB.

Then what? Jusy use Mp3 player upgrade tool to update the firmware. I don't have to erase old firmware?

Skunk , do not update any firmware. It will only kill your player.
Only perform a format on your player, the guide to formating is here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.
