Hi I really could use some help reagarding my problem with my 2gig mp4 player model MPV435 by le-MON. The computer recognizes it, but as an unformatted drive. I am hesitant to format it because it may also erase the operating system of the player itself... Although I can open the player itself, only some modes are still operational. The basic functions of the player itself, namely the mp3 and amv player, the voice recorder and its playback, and picture viewer doesn't work at all . Well the fm radio and games mode is still working but I didn't buy it for that. The settings mode is also still operational and from there, the firmware is still upgradable.
Below is what happens when I try to access the
modes:
Music: instead of running the player, the player
displays a black screen and after sometime, it returns
to the mode selection menu.
AMV: the screen displays disk error and returns
to the mode selection menu.
other modes except the setup and game mode
exhibits the same behavior as the AMV mode.
The setup mode also has a memory info menu and it shows that the player has 0mb available.
It aslo gives this information about the firmware version

The firmware upgrade application tool installed in my computer can detect the player, from there I got this firmware information:
Device Name: S1 Mp3 Player
Productor: Wilson Co. Ltd
Version: 9.0.50
The application tool should recognize if the firmware is damaged and should switch to recovery mode, but it did not. The application bundle also includes a disk manager which has a format tab and parition tab in it. In the format tab it shows that the player has 1946.84 mb... and an format type selection: quick, full, low. I am not sure how this affects the player so I dare not to format it.
I am just thinking if the operating system files of the player is an invisible partition since computer only recognizes 1946.84mb and not the whole 2gig...and that if I quick or low format it, it won't be harmed... is that possible or is it all just wishful thinking?
I also tried to use PC inspectore file recovery, a software that can recover lost date but I only found one lousy voice file I used to test the player. :shock:
After reading some of the articles in this forum, I came upon the topic on how to extract the firmware from your player... turns out that my player can't be read and the aps not extracted..
I would greatly appreciate any kind of information and applicable firmware you guys can share to help me with my problem. Thank You in advance.
