Dead Player!!! Weird one though....

i'm down with 2 dead players...everything seems fine but both are out of battery and when i connect them windows does not detect them nor do i see them in the device manager.... now before they went dead they kinda blinked...went on and off for several seconds...and the USB connector cable was heated up??? i've opened one of the players up and tried the recovery trick...but it is not detected.... what should i do????

if the connector is warm..the player may not be actually brain dead..check the usb cable wire or the slot in your player if shorted(,eans connected to each other and will cause heat which is bad and your player wont turn on) clean the your plyers' circuit board by a little DRY toothbrush to remove metal debris that could cause SHoRT circuit..
dont insert the player to the computer nor charge it for a long time if it is still heating up...yhis may further damage your player..now if the heating is gone, amd still not working you may bnow try the dead player recovery mode..ok? inform me about your development..

Re: Dead Player!!! Weird one though....

hey arviverona,

Well i think its gotta be the usb cable cos i used the same cable for both the players...( it could be one of the plaers as well...cos i stepped on it the other day by mistake in my sleep!) now how do i check it? i dont know any electronics but can follow instructions...

ok, so its somehow clear that your cable is damaged, there are two choices,

first, you must inspect if there is a deformation on the plug,,both the USB plug and the one inserted on your player..check if there is a metal or any unusual object inside remove it or clean it..if none...or there seems nothing wrong but still not working the problem is there is an internal short inside the cable..and this problem is not possible to correct properly when you dont have any background in electronics (since you might interchange the wires-which is dangerous to player)

second..buy another one..

ot you may do the "continuity check" by checking the conductors/wires if there is a continuity - meaning connected else it is broken/mo connection and worst situiaton is shorted which id some wires are connected unwantedly(causes heating)...

well the player you tried to recover(knowing it is dead which is nopt actually)..might be dead now because you performed the recovery ,,,you may recover it again if you have another working USB cable...
