Default Any idea how to fix this problem

Relating to the 'nano clone' type player (2gb)

Working fine until I downloaded a file full of mp3's last night which somehow corrupted, and would not play or delete.

In attempting to delete them I seem to have damaged the file system (I used to have two directories shown when viewed on my PC one labeled voice, and one labeled 1.5[][][][] (this is how it it looked, I guess because there were chinese characters that the pc could not read)

Anyway when plugged in now all I get is a blank file (however if you look at the properties it still shows just over 1gb used (which is about right for the amount on the player)

All the menus etc still work, but show 'no files' when accessed.

Any attemt to drag and drop files into the drive, or create folders is met with a 'file cannot be accessed/created' type message.

So, any suggestions very gratefully recieved. :?:

styru, Can you enter the drive in Explorer?
Have you tried formatting the player?

Hi, I cant access it with explorer.

I have not yet tried formatting (I have just been reading that thread, and guess I should try it)

I had not done so yet, as the seller stated
'do not format the unit, as you will delete the files needed to run the mp4 player'
(although, having read other threads on here I guess it is more a case of do not format, or you will find out the true storage capacity!!!)

styru, Does sound a bit suspect, you can easily check for a dodgy chip like this:
http://www.mympxplayer.org/feedback-...rs-vt2828.html

You may get away with an Error check. Right click on the player drive in Explorer and select Properties>Tools>Error Checking>Check Now and select both options.

Failing that you may have to use "lattesurf's" guide to rebuild the partition but if the memory is hacked this will take it to it's original size.

Well good news and bad!

Good news, your section on formatting was spot on, and has saved my player. So a million thanks, and I'll be making a contribution next time my paypal is in credit.

Bad news, only 1GB not the promised 2!

(sad thing is I've just bought my son a '4gb' one from the same seller - but I think I'll hold off formatting it to see, as its working well and he's happy)

Cheers :?
