Default Dead Battery?

I first tried to charge my MP4 Player yesterday when it automatically turned itself off, I left it on charge for about one hour and it still wouldnt turn on, i dont believe i upgraded the software. I have a USB like between the plug and the actual player, when the switch at the top is in the "on" position the light on the plug is green and when in the "off" position the light on the plug is red. Is this right? Which should i charge it on? The manual is very poor, word for word translation from chinese, so doesnt make any sense, and i cant read anything about charging in the text anyway. I just want to know and give it a proper charging before i dump it.

Thanks...

buckers, The player should always be switched on while charging. Try not to use the charger for more than 4 or 5 hours at a time as they tend to put more stress on the battery than a gentle USB charge.
You should also try another usb cord if you can get hold of one as it is not uncommon for them to be faulty with poor connections.

swith to "on" position for charge.
open the player and check the battery voltage (with a stupid tester)...if more than 3,7v battery fells the charge !!after a full charge battery is about 4,2 v...in this case usb cable and charge circuit it's good...so try this:

1) clean (with spray cleaner) the switch...be carefully to don't spray in to the display otherwise you would disassemble it to clean...and it's an hard job!!
2) i had the same problem (when i try to swith on, hourglasses for few seconds and then "low battery" and swith off).
so i have selled it to ebay...new buyer tolds me that after dump it, all works well!!!!

Good luck.

O.K the Battery is 3.7 Volts, what does this mean? And also the switch, what do you mean by clean the switch, do you mean the part that normally falls out when opening the case? Or the bit inside?

This sounds all good so far

Everything the Battery says on it (In english) is:

(MODEL NO) 042040A
(CAPACITY) 300mAh
(VOLTAGE) 3.7v
4.2v

I wonder what the 4.2v below means?

Hope this helps...

3,7v it's the minimum value to switch on...if this is the value after full charge (about 2/3 hours in "on" switch position) than player have charge problem!!
4,2v is the full charge battery value !!!
if when you try to switch on, nothing appened than try to clean switch:
you must open the player and spray it with a stupic cleaner (protect display before).
i had a player that show mw always "low battery" and then switc off...with a dump upload all works well!!
if you want to make a dump please save your personal dump with follow instructions: http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-ex...tool-vt66.html
explain better what players do when try to switch on :?
Bye

If pc don't recognize player, try more and more to reset chip like in
http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-up...ayer-vt46.html
but after you'll need a correct dump file...good luck!!!
If player should works well but recharge don't works with USB or charger...then try to make a jump to red cable battery direct to positive pole of USB (find it with a tester with usb cable connest to pC) !!! 8)
