Brand New Silver 2g 1.8 Nano Clone

I just got two nano 2g clones silver and I just opened them and put some songs and videos on them only to find out that on one the fm radio doesn't work.

It says HARD ERROR everytime so I tryed to reset the player by unplugging it from the computer and then plugging it back in it was detected but said there was no files or anything on it but I could play the files so I tried FM Radio same error I disconnected it from the computer and tried it without it said HARD ERROR then froze I turned it off and the screen was still froze then turned it back on and it went BLACK now turing it on does nothing.

I just got the freaking thing today.

Is there anything I can do besides returning it?

Have you charged the battery full?

PlatinumNANO 19th Jan 2007 5:34 pm

No I was in the process and then I tried to turn on the FM Radio.

now it's just dead.

Que 19th Jan 2007 5:47 pm

Did you get a wall charger with it, if so, what colors do the leds on it show? Don't mind me saying, but is the on/off switch on full (not halfway shorting now and then) Try all the switches a couple of times, some or one might hang. If you have a red and green light on the charger, it charges, let it a couple of hours if so.

PlatinumNANO 19th Jan 2007 5:53 pm

yeah when I plug in the wall charger it has red and green and when I touch any buttons it flickers green.
but I don't hear any sound.

I'm pretty sure it's turned on all the way. all the way to the right.

Que 19th Jan 2007 5:55 pm

It charges, give it a couple of hours, the final draining of the battery often gives these errors.

PlatinumNANO 19th Jan 2007 5:57 pm

alright well when I plug into the computer shouldn't it be recognized?

PlatinumNANO 19th Jan 2007 6:03 pm

It's charging now.
and the green light is on and staying on.

PlatinumNANO 19th Jan 2007 7:27 pm

I don't know how to take it apart if I can take it apart I can try to short the pins and follow the guide.

I'm really pissed because I just got this thing in the mail today and the other is fine but this one doesn't work at all (now)

PlatinumNANO 19th Jan 2007 11:57 pm

is there any way I can extract the firmware from my other one that is just like this one All the firmware I have for this doesn't seem to work it just shows a bright blank screen or kills it.

I finally figured out how to get it open so I can recover it but I keep flashing it and none of the firmware is right.

What should I do?

lattesurf 20th Jan 2007 12:21 am

PlatinumNANO , you need to open the dead player and check for the processor's serial number (eg ATJ2085, ATJ2091, etc). This way you can locate a suitable firmware.

Regarding the FM radio hard error, it is likely that your player does not have the FM chip installed inside, or it had been damaged.

Samsung 643 K9G8G08U0M-PCB0 but I can't find the chipset

where is it located?

PlatinumNANO 20th Jan 2007 1:37 am

I was able to bring it back to life but now it's stuck on the blue screen and the hourglass.

lattesurf 20th Jan 2007 7:44 am

PlatinumNANO , the blue screen and hourglass, was it after you flashed a Full firmware and a firmware Dump?

If so, you need to try another Firmware Dump, as it might not be compatible.

The processor chip would be 2nd largest black coloured chip besides the memory chip. You need to verify the processor serial to confirm which of the firmware series does it belong to.

PlatinumNANO 20th Jan 2007 1:33 pm

Well when I take it apart there isn't another chip visible there's only one and then the screen.

The firmware on the other one I have that does work says 9.0.4x

And to answer your question it will only show up after I flash it full with 9.0.50 and the dump it with a dump file for 9.0.48.

PlatinumNANO 20th Jan 2007 2:48 pm

When I turn on my player it has a Panda with a camera as it starts up.
if that helps.

and when it shuts off it's some kind of dog.

PlatinumNANO 20th Jan 2007 6:27 pm

Alright when I flash it with all the firmware on here it goes to a blank bright screen after a full firmware should it do this or should I see icons and other stuff just like when I first got it?

lattesurf 20th Jan 2007 8:46 pm

PlatinumNANO , if that's the case, then likely your chipset would require the v9.0.xx series. If those in the downloads sections do not work, then you need to wait til the firmware extraction tool is able to support the v9.0.48 and above.

When you flash a working compatible firmware in, the player would just startup as normal. But may not be the same interface as your previous version. However, the player would be able to startup and function as normal.

PlatinumNANO 21st Jan 2007 2:36 am

Well what would be better? Either waiting for the firmware to come out or sending it back to uxcell?

I just can't believe that I didn't even get to play with it for at least 30 minutes and it's dead.

lattesurf 21st Jan 2007 3:31 am

PlatinumNANO , it might take anything from a couple of days to months. Nobody knows for sure. From what i know, the previous update from v3.0 to 3.1 took about 5-6months.

I'll suggest perhaps that you contact uxcell and maybe get a refund or exchange. As the player arrived with the FM hard error and it subsequently died.

PlatinumNANO 21st Jan 2007 11:31 am

Yeah I contacted them already but haven't heard anything back yet.

I figure I won't see it for another month.

PlatinumNANO 21st Jan 2007 2:48 pm

This is what my nano looks like if anyone has the fw for it or can get it I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

PlatinumNANO 22nd Jan 2007 2:37 pm

New developments got a reply back from Uxcell they told me to try other USB cords and other PCS and format it. I can't do that because It won't even turn on.

And the other I have I gave to a friend and now it's says disc error. What is going on?

Now uxcell tells me to format but one of them isn't recognized by the computer at all and the other one says DISC ERROR I don't understand this.
