How di I back up my players firmware?
Soz if this is a stupid question, but I got my player yesterday & a quick scan of the beginning of the Dead Players advice seems to me to suggest that backing up my firmware straight away would be a wise move, in case anything goes wrong. How exactly do I do this? Is it the same as extracting the firmware but not "fixing" it & putting it back in?
Cheers for any help, Dougie -:). |
dougiepunk, If you just recieved your player I would suspect it is using one of the new firmware versions. Go to your players settings menu and there should be an entry "Firmware Version". If your player is using firmware version 3.5.35, 3.5.37 or 9.0.43 then you can use s1fwx to backup your players firmware. If your pl;ayer is using one of the newer versions 9.0.48, 9.0.50, 9.1.50 or anything above 9.0.43 then there are no tools to backup these versions yet. A new firmware extraction tool is being worked on but no news yet on when it may be released.
