martin0709, You may need to give a bit more info on your player. What was it's original firmware version? What type of player is it? Do you know the serial number of cpu, a smaller square chip something like ATJ2085, ATJ2097 etc.

martin0709, That is one of the most common chip types so the good news is that there are more firmware available that may help you recover your player. Unfortunatly it is not possible to tell you exactly which one will recover your player as there are many many versions. You need to be looking at version numbers 3.5.35 or 3.5.37 that match your players screen size.
If your player is still recognised by the MP3 Update tool then all you can do is keep trying different firmware till you find a suitable match for your player.
If your player is not recognised by the Update Tool then you will need to short the memory chip to do a hard reset and put the player into Recovery Mode. Have a read of the Dead Player Recovery Guide for details on how to do this.
