Default It just died after switching off

My Mp4 will not switch on. It is less than 1 week old. I switched if off last night and that was it. It wont switch on again.

When I plug it into USB there is nothing. The board says B803 V2. It is a 4GB plain black MP4 with samsung chip (probably fake).

Battery is at 4.2 volts and connections look fine. Switch looks ok. No sign of anything burnt out ?

I tried shorting out some pins like in the guide but nothing happened.

Please help

jbalat , you need to try shorting the pins again. There is no right way of shorting, and it is more to pure luck.

Also, what was your previous working firmware version?

I tried for 5 minutes or so with no luck.
The guy from ebay sent me a return form and asked me to send it back for a replacement.. Hope he accepts it with the security tag removed ?

Sorry for doubting you oh wise one !!!

I found that shorting across the first pins on the smaller chip got it started.

Windows installed the AFDU? driver then I uploaded firmware full 3.5.35 which locked up about 1/4 of the way through.

I had to disconnect the usb and got an error message.

Upon reconnecting the player was back up and running. All my files were still there as if nothing had happened.

When I put it back together it would not power up again. So I pulled it apart and did it again. This time there was no need for the firmware upgrade.

I placed a cutout bit of paper on the inside of the case and put it back together just in case it was shorting itself out.

Now it works

Thanks very much !!

PS My firmware is B806G2BV2. 1 2006/11/20 Core 9.0.50

jbalat , congrats! So i presume that now everything works as before?

It might be a case of static, so i'll recommend that you get some masking tape and tape the internal of the back silver cover.

Also, get the player formatted. The guide is here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html

jbalat , to set the language to english, scroll to the System menu, usually has the gear-like icons.
Click Menu to enter.

Press Right twice, to select the 3rd option.
Press Menu to enter.

Press Right once, to select the 2nd option.
Press Menu to select.

This should bring your player back to english again.
