Not dead but dieing?

ok first let me say i have a ChiPod with the star trek Nano tricorder "Mod" and its genius except it doesnt fix my 128X128 Screen so i had to modify each BMP for it to fit ...

ANYWAY i have a Philips GoGear 6GB HDD mp3 player

i have done all the trouble shooting steps through philips and disassemled the player and formatted the drive and changed to a CFlash memcard and nothing worked i tried to extract the firmeware with S1 tools but NO GO

any thoughts? any ideas?

p.s. you cant short the chip because its an SMD (serface mount device)
and glued into the pc board
but i did short the onboard CMOS/ EEprom Battery No effect

just says connect to PC it does respond to on and off commands and will show up on PC as drive F but can not play songs its basicly a fancy jump drive now

HELP!!!

Ace_of_Ages, The s1 tools are for Action chipset player, not familiar with your player but it is certainly not an Action chipset player.
The dead player recovery guide is not going to give you much luck either unfortunatly.
Sadly I can give you no advice on how you would go about recovering your GoGear :(
