Default Cant find 3.5.37 firmware

My player had 3.5.37 but died. I put it in recovery mode by following the excellent advice on this site. However the only firmware files I can find are 3.5.37v2.1b , but this does not work. I believe my chip is:

CM60005ACT6-03AL
2006/5/15

I have tried almost al the 3.5.37 with nonluck. I noticed each time i try the player does something a little differnt. Sometimes it flickers, other times it gives a black screen, one of them gives it a different skin with very faint colors ( but it doesn not work ). I keep shorting the memory , putt in recovery mode then upload a new firmware file. Is this the correct thing to do? Am I on the tright track> Should I try 3.5.35?

fhussain , you should do the shorting of pins only when the Upgrade Tool does not reconisge your player. The different types of screens you observed are because the firmware is not compatible with your player's hardware. Try v3.5.35 if the .37 does not work for you. The more you try, the better chance of recovering your player.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

T39 doesn''t sound as good as my T29

Great I got it working now with one of the firmwares for 2GB ipod clone, under medium-color screens. I did not realize there were 'next' links for more firmwares. I was just stuck on the first page thinking that was it!
