Default Blue/Black screen...The display stopped working

I have an MP4 Digital Player. Dont know why but the display stopped working. I have the player´s firmware so i reinstaled it but nothing happend. Its like its pluged to the battery (the screen is blue/black but on) but no video signal. I try to listen a mp3 (remembering how to reach that, without seing anything on the screen) and worked. So its like theres no video signal on the screen. Please help me. Any advice would be of great help and i would appreciate it. I have been searching for hours in the forums for a similar problem but didnt find something about it. Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem with another player some time ago. Fortunatelly a friend has the same player so i extracted his player firmware. But i discovered the firmware i extracted was not the one you need for a complete firmware upload. So i searched on this web page firmware list and found one that recover my player but not the images. Then i installed the firmware i had taken from my friend player and make it work again. That time, the player died and was my fault...i was trying to upgrade the firmware.
Now its my friend player the one who has problems. He said he did nothing...from a day to another, the screen stopped working.

My player board is a B002-5. So if you have the same board, put an e-mail and i would tell you how to recover a dead player cause a bad upgrade firmware.

If amyone has an idea of what could be, please tell me. The player works normal but no images on the screen. Thanks in advance

Gutturalm: If you tried to make and upgrade and the player die, try to find someone with the same player you have and make a firmware extract with the tools that has this page. And upload it to the player (you said you have the blue screen and the player is working). I had the same problem some months ago. This page helped me a lot. I had to installed one of the full firmwares of the list...then the screen start going blue and the player working...after that i extracted the firmware from a friend player and upload it to my player...then it start working again.

Herky85: I dont remember the original Graphics for the welcome message. I personalized it. I can only tell you it has a B002-5 board. If you have that i could help you with the firmware. Its an MP4 Digital Player, with 1.5" screen, 1 GB Samsumg memory and FM.

Gutturalm: If you find the correct full firmware, the pod will work as usual (if your pod died because of a wrong upgrade). But as you said before you use a full firmware that let you use your pod but no graphics on the screen. That is because the firmware that you load has same functions that your player...so it let you use it. But has not the same screens so you didnt see anything. You have to find the correct firmware extracted with s1fwx; if not, find any pod exactly like your and extract it yourself. Then you use the "Player Upgrade Tool" to flash it to your pod and it will recover full life again.

Hope you understand what i tried to said. If not, contact me by msn aleaschei@hotmail.com

My problem is different, the player screen died and my friend did nothing to happend. Maybe is a bad contact between the board and the screen or something i dont know. The screen its on but shows no images. I have full firmware for my player and i tried reinstalling firmware but still the same. If anyone has the same problem and could solve it, please help.

Gutturalm: Good for you...glad to hear that. As you had said before your player was working but with blue screen, so maybe the firmware you installed is not full. If it said FULL, then trust and keep it like gold. Will help you in future. If it not say FULL, keep this one and the one that recovery the fuctions before. Maybe this last firmware you run and work is the one with screens only. Keep the firmwares for future...dont forget that. Now enjoy your player...and good luck.
