HELP PLEASE!

My screen is 1.8" accross. It's a generic MP3/MP4 Player, Black, and when it worked, had a panda pop up at startup and a dog with a black eye pop up at shutdown. Now all I have is a white screen after installing firmware since my player randomly died (I was switching songs, and it went back to the menus... and it said my disk was empty, and my recording menu gave me a disk error. It literally wiped my drive in a moment. I plugged it into my computer and it opened the F: drive (As per normal) but the ROOT folder, in fact all folders inside had vanished. I used the Dead player recovery guide and am now sitting here without a dump.bin file (what the heck IS that anyway, and where can I get one, since I did not back up my player cause I had no idea how!) My Mp3 player is sitting infront of me with a blank white screen. Help please, I'm a music lover, not a tech geek!
