doobie , as your chipset is the ATJ2091H, it would be using firmware v9.0.xx series. Currently the firmware extraction tool S1fwx which you used only supports upto v9.0.43, most players use v9.0.48 or v9.0.50. That is why there are the error messages when you tried to extract it.

The firmware you extracted is of no use as there are missing files. What i can suggest is to try every v9.0.xx firmwares here http://www.mympxplayer.org/actions-9...mare-dc37.html

Re: S1mp3 firmware wanted. board: AT91-004FC-V0.2 chip: ATJ2

thank you Lattesurf

is there a newer version of S1fwx that i could use? i think i've checked every possible S1 website. i can borrow someone's player that still works and uses similar firmware.

i see many fake ipod nano's use v9.0.x firmware but i guess it's useless to download them onto my player (Sumvision M18), right?

lattesurf 19th Feb 2007 8:21 am

doobie , currently the latest version is S1fwx v3.1 which as mentioned supports upto v9.0.43.

So any player with a higher version number that this would be unable to have a proper working extraction by the tool.

However, you can try those in the downloads section. As these firmwares came from various sources, some from sellers, some from manufacturers, some on the CDs.

Re: S1mp3 firmware wanted. board: AT91-004FC-V0.2 chip: ATJ2

thanks for your fast replies, Lattesurf. i meant that the firmware downloads available in the Actions 9xx section appear to be mostly for the ipod nano replicas and that i imagine they're not appropriate for my Sumvision M18. am i wrong?

lattesurf 19th Feb 2007 10:20 am

doobie , they are all about the same. Usually the player has different casings and some have brands/names printed onto the casings.

But generally they still use the same firmwares. Just chose those firmwares with the same screen size as yours.

yeah. ok, but even mine being quite different in terms of size and screen type? do you know what the sumvision M18 looks like? it's one of those dot-matrix screen, usb pen-drive-size mp3 players. are you saying that they have a similar firmware to the fake ipod nanos, with their colour screens, etc? excuse my doubts but i thought the firmwares would be quite different even if the main chip might be the same. i'll try all the files in the 9xx section then.

lattesurf 19th Feb 2007 11:19 am

doobie , in that case, you'll be able to find more firmwares for the USB Thumbdrive style players in S1mp3.org here http://www.s1mp3.org/en/downloads_fw.php

Re: S1mp3 firmware wanted. board: AT91-004FC-V0.2 chip: ATJ2

i already checked that mate, and all the versions are too old for my player. i need a 9.0.xx.

is there any way to turn a dead usb flash mp3 player in ADFU mode into a simple flash drive? i'd be happy with that. what i miss most is having 2gb of data in a small package.
