Any way to recover dead S1 as usable flash drive?
 

I've tried lots of 9.0.xx firmwares, which is what my pen-drive size, b/w screen mp3 player needs, but they're for the chipod nano's.

board: AT91-004FC-V0.2 2006.09.25

chip: ATJ2091H FC140FA 1CI

flash: Samsung 704 K9LAG08U0M

i'd be happy to use it at least as dumb data drive.

Hi.... Try them again.... And remember.... First you have to upload FULL FIRMWARE.... !!! if windows doesn t recognise it as a disk, try to upload another FULL FIRMWARE and if it cannot be uploaded... Connect the pins and try it again.... ;) try the firmware T18...... if it is pen mp3

thanx for reply. what's that t18 f/w you mentioned? i guess i don't need to do the shortcircuit thing as my player is recognised as ADFU device (if that's what you menat). with some firmwares i've tried the download doesn't finish and an error pops up saying it's an invalid f/w. i've tried some full f/w too, unsuccessfully.

YOu have to try FULL fw if your player is in ADFU ! T18... it is the name of full firmware in the download section.. try it ;)
