i can hear the misic and sometimes FM but noting is displayed on the screen its just black. is my mp4 dead or not. if not then what can i do to restore it to normal

technoboy , did you flash in any firmwares previously that caused the black screen?

If you did flash in another firmware or you had just recovered your player, then the firmware which you flashed in is not fully compatible with your player. The functions work, but probably the screen driver is wrong, causing the black screen.

Re: not sure if my mp4 is dead or not

my mp4 player was giving me disk problems and not working properly so i extracted the firmware and put the same thing back on it. Then the screen turned black and hasn't changed ever since can you let me know if i can make the screen work again.

technoboy , do you still remember your previous working firmware version?

I have a feeling it is the v9.0.48 or v9.0.50 firmwares.

When you extracted the firmwares, you would have seen some error messages within the command prompts, as certain files can't be read and are missing. And when you re-flashed this "backup" into your player, it over written the working firmware with a backup with missing files. Thus causing the screen problems.

the original firmware was v9.0.48.
I there any possible way i can make the screen work again?

technoboy , since the S1fwx extracts a firmware with missing files, and you flashed this firmware into your player, the missing files are what caused the screen problems.

What i can suggest is to try all the v9.0.xx series firmwares in here http://www.mympxplayer.org/actions-9...mare-dc37.html

If all of them do not work, try contacting your seller and see if they have the firmware to send to you. Also search the CD that came with your player, sometimes the firmware is in it, it should be in .fw or .bin format.
