CTW500 with samsung K9LAG08U0M flash disk, 2 inch screen
 

I bought it as 4 GB, after formatting I got a 2GB player. after running one week, player is dead now. PC detects player as usb disk and warns it must be formatted. After formatting I can create file and save. But after disconnect and reconnect, I lost the file I created. I found original software, 9.0.43 having same icons in this site. I can not install firmware, I tried tools 4.05, 4.09, 4.03 no luck. any suggestions???

Do you use windows' "unplug or remove hardware" function to safely disconnect from the computer, or do you just rip the cable out? The last option can corrupt your data.

I disconnect using windows remove hardware wizard. I can format using FAT, but get error FAT32 format.

by following dead player guide, I succeded to upload full firmware 9.0.48 using tool 4.0.9 . But player does not work, it shows a white screen. only flash disk is ok. I found a dumped 9.0.43 firmware on this site which has the same icons , but I can not upload it. do I have to do some other tasks before uploading a dumped firmware? s1fwx repair does not work on this firmware. Thanks In Advance.

unsal , the S1fwx v3.1 only supports upto v9.0.43 at the moment, so the current v9.0.48 in your player can't be extracted properly.

If the Upgrade Tool does not work, try using Product Tools, available in the downloads section.

lattesurf, I have uploaded 9.048 full firmware. It is semi-dead now, flash disk is ok and it can play mp3 file but no menu, no display. I randomly pressed buttons and it played. I do not know the next step. should I extract the the firmware I uploaded, that is 9.0.48? what to do with extracted firmware next? Thanks

unsal , the firmware that you uploaded is not compatible with your player in terms of the screen display driver.

There is no use of extracting the firmware, even if you can extract a working copy, it would still be the same firmware file as you initially uploaded to your player.

What i can suggest is to try all the v9.0.xx firmwares. If none of them works properly, then you'll need to wait until the firmware extraction tool is able to support your version. Then others with same firmware as yours can extract theirs for you to test on your player.

Anybody having a running 9.0.xx firmware for CTW500 processor with 2.0 inc display? player has a BL-4C, 3.7 V battery. I tried one uploaded to this site, CTW500 2.0 inc, but it kills player. Player is similar to following image

nobody in this site have a working firmware 9.0.43 for player with 2.0 inc display???????? any dumped firmware of Glacier????
