Flash is not responding or similar error
 

First of all thank for this very usefull forum...
here's my problem: i have updated my mp4 player with a not compatible firmware, so i followed the "recovery guide". After my pc detect my player as a ADFU service, i'm having problems with firmware upgrading. I have tried all full firmware and evrytime say something like this "flash is not responding", invalid upgrade firmware, "read or write device information failed"...etc...I have use some different programs to install the fw: mp3 1.45, mp3 4.07 and Product tools..i have tried with a lot of firmware that have the same icons as my player ....
Chip is Samsung 628 2gb

3.5.3.37

it's a black nano clone, it has 5 button: play, next, back, menu, vol.

crowwo , this is a common problem with many players. While there is no way of specifying which version of MP3 Utilities would work properly, i'll suggest trying all the versions of MP3 Utilities. There are quite a number of versions in the downloads section, so try all of them.

Here is a little trick. Try and see if it helps you. Apply some lite pressure onto the flash chip with your finger when trying the different firmwares to upgrade. I just put a small piece of folded up paper thick enough onto the flash chip and then put the player back together with the paper on the flash chip and left it in there it doesn't hurt it. So basically you want to press down on the flash chip when it is trying to update the firmware. Let me know if it works.

thanks for the replies.... I have tried with many version of mp3 player utilities : 1.45, 3.57, 3,68,4.00,4.10 and product tool ....so i don't think it's a problem of utilities...i've tried also the 2nd trick but nothing...i don't know if i 've understand well: i make pressure with my finger during the update on the samsung chip, it's correct?

Yes that's correct. When trying the different firmwares for the update apply some pressure to the Samsung flash chip.
