Default [Help] TREO S1MP3 Player Firmware

Hello Everyone,

I bought this S1MP3 and its brand is "TREO". I've never seen it before. I tried to find it on the internet but it was imposible. The players that are just like it are for example Foston or Sony. It is a simple MP3 Player. it has a small LCD non coloured screen and a few buttons. It has a MP3 logo at its left side and an USB logo at its right side. On top of it, it is written "Digital Mp3 Player" and bellow it, its written "Treo tm".

My problem is the following. When I turn it on, its screen freezes with "Initializing" written on it. After trying all the known procedures under Windows I realized that something was wrong with the firmware. I "dismantled" the player and did everything to flash its memory. I managed to do it and now I am stuck on the part I need to update the firmware.

I need to mention a "workaround" I had done already

My Windows XP wasnt being able to find my MP3 Player device after the instalation of "Mp3 Player Utilities" after the short-circuit process.

Because of that, I had to modify the driver file that could be found on the "RDiskUpdate/driver" folder patch.

The file is called "AdfuUpdate.inf" and this what I edited:

At line #14, there is something like it:

%USB\VID_10D6&PID_1160.DeviceDesc%=MDisk.install,U SB\VID_10D6&PID_ff51

So I changed it to:

%USB\VID_10D6&PID_1160.DeviceDesc%=MDisk.install,U SB\VID_10D6&PID_ff61

After changing the PID to the correct number I needed, everything worked OK. Windows found my device and I was able to start the attempt and error firmware upgrading proccess.

That is why I am posting here. I can't find the proper Firmware for my device anywhere!

This is the specification I have on it:

Processor: ATJ2091H
Moder Board ID (I found it behind my LCD device): MP-683I LCM REV 3 06/09/30

*Thats all the info I have so far. I am trying this for ages, and I am posting here because I just can't do it anymore. I never seen this firmware before, or this kind of Mp3 Playr brand called "Treo".

Any other needed info everyone may need, please post in here and I will do my best to get it.

Thanks a lot in advance!

danielassad , thanks for the tip on modifying the ADFUupdate file. i'm sure it'll be very helpful to others.

Back to your problem, your player would be using the v9.0.xx series firmwares here http://www.mympxplayer.org/actions-9...mare-dc37.html
As currently the firmware extractor S1fwx only supports upto v9.0.43, you might face a problem of locating a compatible firmware.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

lattesurf,

Thank you for the reply.

I tried every single firmware of the link you passed me. Do you think that it will take very long for the S1fwx to support other versions?

The main problem with the firmwares I found on the link you posted is that they are for players that have 1.5 or 1.8 inch LCD and stuff. My mp3 player is a really simple one.

The Firmware I guess that could work with my player is this one:

http://www.mympxplayer.org/dump9043bin-df446.html

The problem is that this is a dump version and I need a full version first. Right?

I guess that I should look for 9.0.xx versions of "MP3 Player monochromatic LCD". Do you know where I can find some? If not here in mympxplayer.org?

Is there anything else I can do? Or just wait?

Thank you.

danielassad , you might have better luck locating a firmware at S1mp3.org here http://www.s1mp3.org/en/downloads_fw.php
As they deal with more monochromatic screen players.
