Overcharged player is now dead... HELP PLEASE

Hi All,

I bought my player on ebay from 'Aaliyah's Bargains'. When it arrived there was a note with it with info on the player. In that info it said 'charge for 3-4 hours max'

After charging the player for around 2-3 hours i unplugged it from the USB/Charger and now the player wont turn on!

I think the battery has been overcharged, is there anyway of reviving my player without having to replace the battery?

I can't get inside the player to look inside (no screws, and can't do it with the quide on here either) and can't really afford a new battery (i'm out of work and money is very low)

Any tips hints or suggestions would be great!

Thanks, Azza87

azza87 , does your computer still detect the player when connected via USB?

azza87,

Few things to try:

1. Try charging using the wall charger instead and see if that helps.

2. Try charging your player connected to a different USB port in your computer (in case that USB port might be the problem).

3. Try charging your player using a different computer instead (in caase the computer's the problem).

4. Try getting a hold of another USB cable and use that instead. This is in case the USB cable is at fault.

Has your player turned on at all since you've had it? I have many players and sometimes I leave it charging all night, 12 hrs max and there has never been a problem. To me, at a first glance, it seems like the player is at fault and if you've only just got it, itmight be worth mentioning this to the seller.

Hi, when i first got it the player seemed to work okay. I connected it to the pc with not problems, i removed the memory hack and formatted it and then put some music on it and everything was fine. I then charged the player for 3-4 hours (using the wall plug and usb cable) Since charging the player wont turn on (unless it is plugged into with the wall charger but it's a blue screen with a hour glass) when using the usb cable to the pc the mplayer just wont turn on, and my pc doesn't see its connection.

The only time it is powering up is when it is plugged in charging at the wall but it's a blue screen with an hour glass. Once i remove the charger it goes off and wont turn on.

By the way, i have mentioned this to the seller but all i have gotten is attitude, can i point you to the negotiatingwith the sellers thread to see sent and received msgs from the seller?
