Default Killed mp3 player

Hi all,

I have this player, which I bought in early 2006.

Pacific Player
SWEEX MP3 Player, MP300041, 256MB

One day my sister unplugged it while transfering files. From that day until now it is in the following situation

- It boots when turned on, then the following message appears "NO MP3 FILE FOUND!", Nothing can be done after that.

- Windows will detect the player and, incredibly, it will find all the content that was there just before the incident, files, music, all is playable from windows and all content can be copied from mp3 to PC.

- However, Windows cannot write anything into the mp3. Files can be copied, but not moved. No files can be added, no changes to the files can be saved, and no formatting is allowed. Whenever I atempt to do any of the previos I get the message error "DELAYED WRITING ERROR, DRIVE x" (I do not know the exact text of message in english, in spanish it will be "Error de escritura demorada, Unidad x").

- Drive cannot be formatted with any USB flash drive formatting tools. Same error message. Sometimes after pugging and unplugging format will report successful, but nothing is really done to the player, as the files are still there and general situation will not change. However, I did not try the new MP3 tools that come with mp4 players. I will do it and tell you.

- If I plug the drive before te PC is on, and then turn it on, it will simply fail to boot. So I guess nothing outside Windows can be done.

Any help here? I wish I don't have to throw this player away.

Thanks in advance,

DAN

Try the Disk Tool and go to the Partition Encrypt tab and move the slider all the way right and then back to the left and press the start button, this should rebuild the petititon.
You could also right click on the player in Explorer and select Properties\Tools\Disk check and run it with both options selected, this may clear any corrupt files etc.
