Re: HARDWARE Problem shooter
Hi! I was given a s1mp3 player yesterday.. it's completly dead (I think once it has fall to water)...
The player's screen doesn't show anything, but it's recognized by the computer as an USB Device. I tried doing the short in the memory chip, but with no succes.. At least I want to recover it and use it as a pendrive! I think it's totaly dead... The player has an ATJ2085H chip Thanks! |
well, I managed to get it work in ADFU mode. By now, I've almost tried every firmware I've seen, but can't recover it yet. I keep searching! if you know any firmware that may work with my mp3 player tell me!
Thanks! |
First clean it wery good. Then check converter voltages on 65Z 5volt to 3volt and 65e 3volt to 1.5volt. If volt exists try changing crystal 24.576 or 24.000. Choose correct crystal if your mp have one of them. if it is not working, connect your mp to computer holding short the memory chip. Is there anything connect to your computer? If not, check the USB jack and USB Cable. Finally if your mp not connect to computer, THE CHIP ATJxxxx was broken! ALSO there are double converter looks like led regulator.

Get full firmware and update Korn88 :)

reconnect your mp after update with full firmware. If your mp have a chip ATJ2051, ATJ2085 you may try full firmware version 3.5.xx, If ATJ2091, 2093, 2097, and CTW500 try with 9.x.xx full firmwares

Thanks for answering!!! The chip is an ATJ2085H.
Is very hard to find 3.5.xx firmwares for MP3 players, all that I've seen are for MP4 players :( I'll keep searching! if you have any firmware that may work please upload it!!! ------------------------------------ GOOD NEWS! I've found a full firmware that worked.. Now the player is recognized as an USB storage device :D The bad new is that is recognized with 521mb  It used to be a 1gb player. Is it posible that the memory is broken? Also I've found in the recovery process that the memory is not very good "soldered" or "attached" and I had to put some presure on it to make it work I'll see if I can resolder it, but it's a very hard work :x |
