dead ipod clone

I have a Ipod nano clone 2 gig. which had the sand watch hour glass problem. Then i followed the recovery guide opened it up, press on the pins with paper clip, then it detected ADFU device. then i was able to use the MP3 upgrade tool and updated the full firmware which i downloaded Full Version 9.0.50 for 1.5 LCD
SRX-1.5c-007_2006-12-10_9.0.50.bin
chip set is SAMSUNG 710 K9LAG08UOM and the chip set is ATJ2093H
Then the guide told me to format it, Windows explorer cannot detect it, and i have no idea how to format it. What should i do next. The mp4 player started to show some life, no more watch glass anymore.

stevoplaystation,

When you say " started to show some life".. what do you mean? Did it start up? .. do you get a menu?

It sounds to me if windows won't detect it then the firmware you flashed to it is incorrect. Although that firmware is for ATJ2091H and 2093H chipsets there are other factors that would make it incompatible. What you may have to do is perform the dead player recovery once again and try a different firmware type.

Re: dead ipod clone

it just has a white screen thats all.

How should i recover the thing again? uninstall it and install another driver?

Just reset the player again into ADFU mode by shorting the pins.. like before. Then download another firmware type or version and upload it to your player.

You'll find in many of these 'dead player' cases, finding the right firmware is a game of 'hit and miss'
