Default Help with a dead player

Hello, I think my player has died. I have been plugging in and out the USB cable, because I tested AMV Converter and I was transferring movie files, and after I finished and plugged out the cable.. it wouldn't turn on anymore. I must add that I am always stopping the USB device before I plug out the cable!

Now, if I try to charge the player from the power supply, the screen will turn white. And that's it.

I have a nano 2nd gen clone, firmware 9.0.50.. what can I do to restore it?
Thank you for any help

w00t,

Can your computer still detect your player as a drive? If it can, what you can try do is backup your files, then FORMAT your player.

If that doesn't work, then extract the firmware from your player and then flash your player again with your extracted firmware (use only YOUR firmware).

Hope that helps.

Hello,

Windows will not detect the player anymore..I insert the cable and nothing happens.
Plus I cannot extract the firmware because it's one of those versions that cannot be extracted at the moment.

Anybody knows what should I/can I do?
And what caused this malfunction?

I found out that my firmware is in fact 9.0.48.

Ok it is clear that I have to apply the 'dead player recovery guide'. I have read it a few times and I am going to give it a try, but first I have to ask something:
1. Considering the version I have (or had).. Digital player, LX93001_A, 2006/12/08, ACT_V9.0.4x; after I write a full firmware, will this info still be the same?

2. If I write a full version will I still have to use 9.0.48? Or am I free to use other versions like 3.5.37 or 9.0.43. After all, if i completely rewrite the firmware, I could do this, no?

edit: from what I have read right now, it seems I could do this.
3. Also, if I write the full firmware, I could upload themed firmwares, no?

My player is the Ipod Nano 2nd generation clone with a 1.8" screen. I will also upload pictures when I get home.

I cannot reset the player in ADFU mode! I have short circuited the chip over and over, the flame can sometimes be seen, but windows will not detect anything! What should I do?

And what happened to tadad...
