Can you do an s1clone image of your player flash & upload it please? go to http://www.s1mp3.de and download the s1clone tool. Make sure your mp4 is as empty as possible otherwise file is enormous (it will be 50M as it is!) - it will take about an hour or 2 so sorry about inconvenience but I think it is the only way my player & I'm sure lots of others will beable to work again.
I think you will make a lot of people happy :D

You are also welcome to upload it to this site as well to share with others.

Compress it if you can to try and save disk space.

I HAD 9.1.51. As I specified, I have broken the 9.1.51 firmware and now I use 9.0.50. I allready posted that one in my second post and also 2 packs of Glacier firmwares. The clone contains exactly the same firmware I allready posted on the site ;)

What I think you have uploaded is firmware backup & not the clone for which you need to use s1clone tool. The clone is I think the only one likely to have a chance of working with my player. Have tried the DaZed one you refer to - it sadly just gives me white screen.

I'm trying to get 9.1.51 cloned image file but need to locate people with working identical players.

Cheers :)

Yes, that is the firmware backup i posted, but if that doesn't work on your player, the clone will not work either. The clone contains all the data in the flash chip, including the firmware. On the market today i have seen 3 variations of this player that are not compatible one with another. The case looks the same but the board is not identical, thus the white screen (the lcd microcontroller is set on different output pins on the ATJ chip).

So you say you tried the dazed firmware and didn't work, so here are 2 packs of glacier firmwares. Please try these, there's a chance one will work.

I tried to extract the image for you but it won't get cloned. It gives me this error (seems to be a libusb driver problem AFAIK)

Hi
Thanks for trying anyway. The circuitry for my player look very similar but possibly not identical (it looks like the small chip at the battery terminal end is smaller on mine, but the general layout is same). What number is on your Samsung memory chip? By the way, I think you may have to have the driver in a different location to get rid of that error.
Cheers

Re: IT's ALIVE, IT's ALIVE

Look in my first post (press the expand button on the code). There are all the specifications for the player.

;-------------------------------------------------------
-Main chip:
ATJ2093N

-Memory chip:
SAMSUNG - 746
K9LAG08U0M

-Board version
ZX-923M-TLS v1.0
2006.11.24

;-------------------------------------------------------

Now try to open your player and GENTLY look on the board on the upper part under the display (but take care when rising it, you don't wanna break the connector!!!!). There should be a serial there, in mine it is ZX-923M-TLS v1.0.

About the driver problem, it is not functioning well because of my damn motherboard. I have only USB 1.1 and there are problems with that type of USB when communicating with s1clone. I will try again, maybe it will work. I allready did that a few times now and it stops after a couple of minutes.

But once again, if the firmware image i posted doesn't work, neither will the clone.

Have you tried the firmwares in that packs?

You are right, not same player although they look it. yours is true 2GB, mine only 1GB, (chip is K9G8G...

I got mine from power_player88 see http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-Screen-2GB-M...QQcmdZViewItem

Turned out to be 1GB not 2.

Thanks for your input, & if you know anyone with one same as me, please put them in touch with me.

All best

Dang, that sucks... Can't u get a refund from that guy?

scatwell 2nd Aug 2007 7:04 am

Am trying but he wants me to send it to Hong Kong at my expense before he does anything & I'm not willing to do that. So I want to fix it.... just in case. I'm also interested in the technical bits.
