@hsals666
Read "Issue3" in the guide i made.
WELL IT'S NOT AS DEAD AS IT WAS!!!:-)
So some progress. The 9.0.48 v4 file is very close, screen is not right (looks as if it is shifted to one side by about 4mm) & colours wrong, flickering, etc, and no chance of lookig at photos or video playing, but I can read some of the menus. No external speaker but plays MP3's & sort of reads text files.

The 9.1.51 firmware put it into recovery mode which was a shame.

Just for info, the correct firmware on another working identical device is
2006/01/29
9.1.51

ACU7515_S75
2006/10/21

and the best firmware on mine (from the pack) is
2006/09/12
9.0.48
ACT 2097_S75
2006/06/12

Still need to keep hunting but closer than we were.

Cheers.

PS. I am using Tools v 4.03 - is there any benefit in using a newer version? Is it likely to make any difference. I personally don't expect so, but if anyone thinks different, please let me know.

Thanks

Ah that's great . We're really close I can feel it. I digged for firmware day and night and found some documents. It seems that they use now ACU**** processors in the new players, that's why the firmwares are a bit incompatible. Did you know that the firmware that woked was from this player here?

I am still searching, maybe we'll find a good one. We need a chinese to help us hehe. I now use google toolbar to search on chinese websites.

About the tools, I don't think it really matters, but sometimes it does make a difference. I guess the best thing would be to use the software that came on the original CD.

Cheers
