red_pen , i'll suggest that you try all the v9.0.xx series firmwares until you get a working one. However, since the extraction tool could only support upto v9.0.43 at the moment, you might face a problem of locating a compatible firmware.

hey i was wondering if i was to buy the same mp4 player would i be able to use the clone program of that working player and use that dump file with the mp3 upgrade program to fix my broken player? also a higher capacity player wouldn't change the compatibility right? it should still be the same firmware? this is assuming that all the mp4 player that the guy i bought this one from are the exact same of course.

red_pen , yes what you said is right. The S1clone software would most likely work if the working player and dead player are off the same manufactured batch.

I have a WORKING mp4 player with the 2514d3ec board. I could extract the firmware and solve a lot of people's problems if i could get it to extract. Anyone care to help?!?!

All i get with s1fwx is:

BRECF285.BIN
FWIMAGE.FW
SYSINFO.BIN

But it tells me the firmware version is 9.0.50
manufacturer is Wilson Co. Ltd

Anyone willing to help me extract let me know!

joshandkenzie , you'll need the S1clone v1.3 instead http://www.s1mp3.de/tools.s1clone.html

S1fwx only supports upto v9.0.43 and is unable to extract your firmware.
