backlight always on

Got a genuine 4Gb mp4 player (1.5" nano clone) in a box of odds and ends. It died and now won't move beyond ADFU mode no matter what firmware I tried also the backlight allways stays on.
Anyone know what's going on?

Hmm, That genrally means the firmware you loaded was for a 1.8" screen and your player is 1.5" , Try putting on some differnt firmware , To be sure this is the problem try and play some music (Use intuition to navigate to the music player) and see if the headphones give out any sound.

geekstarr, in ADFU mose theres no 'operating system' (firmware) to control what it does. So the backlight is always going to remain on. I've had a players firmware go corrupt and while in ADFU mode the backlight always stays on.

The next step is to get a compatible firmware file into it. What happens when you flash it? An error? Successful flash but no go? or something else?

Even if you've tried all the firmware files on this site theres still many more out there that could be right one. Or it could be a fault within the player. You should open it up and check to see if there are any wires or connections that are broken. Just one loose connection could cause it to stop working completely.
