Streamlife...
Would you tell us about your player? screen size? slot for SD card?

hi,
knob ,DaremoS
from your support i try step by step but my player ONDA VX858LE look like onda vx858 can not connect to "ROCK USB" upgrade mode (i switch off my player by reset hole and press MENU key and hold it while i plug USB cable) ...( If connecting the cable when the player is in its new "idle mode" (can see all icons etc but only the lower left button is registered when pushed, and shows icon as if the player is locked with the on/off button - when left button is pushed!) - I get a Windows message like: USB Device Not Recognized ...same "dnul") link::>pics look like this http://www.houseofdap.com/forum/view...st=0&sk=t&sd=a .... Maybe another member knows an alternative soft recovery for touch screen ..I hope another member can get your player back....Thank you so much for all your suggestion

My D-Chord 361 dead after firmware upgrade. Soft recovery not working anyway. I try this step:
1. Main switch to "OFF".
2. Remove board from player.
3. Connect USB to player.
4. Short pins 29 and 30 on Flash chip, player recognized as USB storage.
5. Disconnect player.
6. Hold "PLAY" button and connect USB again.
7. Wait until player recognized as "ROCK USB".
8. Run ConsumerUpdate with the same firmware file from vendor site.
Player work!
Thanks to all, great site!

Help please, My MP4 player goes "BLANK WHITE" when I update firmware, when I conect it to PC, Windows XP detect my MP4 player as rockUSB but "consumer update" cant detect my MP4 device (usb device not found). it has 2 removable disk ( flash memory and for miniSD card expendable) but now My MP4 cant detect MiniSD card, must I recover firmware first? (sorry my english is bad).

my MP4 player has 2.4" display, 1 gig + miniSD expendable, only supports AVI movie 320 x 240, 20 fps.
the system(GUI) look like this :

There are now loads of Rockchip firmware ready available for DEAD player recovery only.

If you have a DEAD Rockchip player then check out the number on your PCB, screen and processor RK2602, RK2606 or RK2608 and match it with the firmware list here.:-

Well, recently i bought and mp4 of the brand Tinch, anyways, the model it was supposed to be the TC-811, as it is written on the MP4, but i was upgrading the firmware and after that, all i get is a blank screen
I realized that in the CD it says TC-816, which is different from my mp4 model.. i looked everywhere for a matching and working firmware, and i havent found it yet, this was the one which came with the CD NP2421NC_MLC_NOFM_1.8.rfw but i tried to recover it with this firm, and i couldnt.
So, i tried with a lots of firmwares and different versions of the consumer update program, sometimes i get "this file doesnt match with this tools" sometimes the updating process is successful, but i still dont get anything but a black screen, and finally, i got a firmware, then i push update, and the device reboots, and then starts to update (never seen this before) and then i get an error:

Click the image to open in full size.

I hope you guys can give me an answer, i would really appreciate that.
by the way, this is a picture of my device Click the image to open in full size.

it is a 2,4 inches screen, 1 GB with a card slot, and the chip is RK2608A, but it has not a camera.. i will be really thankful if you can provide me a working firm as well

THANKS!!

Try this consumerUpdate, it accepts most of the firmware types, it's the newest version:-
