Computer doesn't recognize MP4 player anymore

I have a mp4 player (1.5" , 4 GB) and I only had it a few days when the computer couldn't recognize it anymore. I can still play the songs but my computer don't recognise it. I've opened it and tried to fix it (like discribed in topic "dead mp3 player" but still it isn't recognised.

My firmware is 9.0.50

I had to work hard for this player and I really want it to work again

keep cool-headed

I would not open the mp4-player, because it's working. And dont try to "update" the firmware - thats very risky, 95% of them post in "dead player revival" after they have tried this!

Search to locate the problem at your PC: Maybee windows has forgotten the driver, reinstall the driver! Check the Windows System properties. Check if the USB Connector/Hub is ok and working. Install the driver on a friends PC and try if the player is recognised there.

Re: Plz help me

I don't know where to find the driver! I don't know the brand of my mp4 and the CD I have doesn't work properly. (and there is no driver included I think, only some other software). Could it be a problem that I use Vista?
Or maybe it's a manipulated player that has a size of 2 Gb instead of 4 gb? (to many files on it ---> crash???)

I don't know, can somebody tell me??

maybe its the usb that is not working, because f you follow the dead player recovery guide its a sure thing that your player will be recognized.

Re: Computer doesn't recognize MP4 player anymore

I don't know if this could be the problem. My USb ports are working properly and deliver enough power I suppose (usb 2.0).
I don't know if it could be due to the usb cable or connector of my mp4 player. I still can load the battery with the usb-cable connected to my pc.

sander0606 8th Aug 2007 9:02 am

OK now I'm making progress. The USB connector didn't worked properly. Now the mp4 player appears at my screen but he don't know what it is. I've tried to install a driver (adfuud.sys) but my pc crashes all the time. Can someone give me some drivers plz.

(firmware 9.0.50)

hsals666 8th Aug 2007 9:27 am

does your pc restart everytime it detects the device?
thats okay

sander0606 8th Aug 2007 1:06 pm

It restarts everytime I try to install an Adfuus driver. There appears a blue screen and my computer crashes and then it restarts. What do I have to do now? I don't know if i'm using the good drivers

Witch driver did you use? Can you send it to me? Is it the Adfuud.sys driver??

Th3_uN1Qu3 9th Aug 2007 5:31 am

The Adfuud.sys driver is for RECOVERING A DEAD DEVICE. Don't mess around with it if you don't know what you're doing,

It's just that these crap MP4 players aren't compatible with the crap OS named winblows vista.

sander0606 9th Aug 2007 6:02 am

OK I will try it on a XP-computer

hsals666 9th Aug 2007 10:06 am

Yes I died in this message, is that the problem? Is Vista really a problem for using this mp4 player. The seller said that he thought that it wasn't a problem but he wasn't sure.

hsals666 9th Aug 2007 10:33 pm

im not sure, but i've read some topics in the forum they advised someone to use winXP for the player, and some said win98 can be used to.Just try it,if you've a friend that has been using XP,its worth a shot.

Th3_uN1Qu3 10th Aug 2007 7:40 am

Vista IS a problem. Use XP and it should work just fine. ;)
