PandaShark , what did you do to the player to cause it to go dead?

Your player has a camera, which means that it is most likely a Sunplus or maybe a Sigmatel player. You'll need to open your player and identify the processor first before proceeding.

If it is Sunplus, then there is nothing much you can do as there are no tools available that i know of which could extract working firmwares. So there isin't any firmwares in the downloads section.

If it's Sigmatel, you might have a chance at recovery.
Sigmatel firmwares: http://www.mympxplayer.org/sigmatel-firmware-dc36.html
Sigmatel firmware uploader: http://www.mympxplayer.org/sigmatel-...der-df230.html

There is a slim chance of recovery, and if you can't do it, i'll suggest you contact your seller for an exchange.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

T39 doesn''t sound as good as my T29

Wow someone finally replied! woot

I got this lil gadget from a guy (traded it for a crappy iMac) its impossible to return it. No im not screwed because all it needs is firmware

When i got it, it worked fine until it begane to freeze on a screen that said "Software Loading" it locked up and never loaded. it wasnt being detected by the computer also!

After hours of severe frustration i finally found a way to get it to work but i had to format the Mp4.

The damn firmware is nearly impossible to find, no company has it!! People sell em but they just dont link the creators site!!

I know how to extract the firmware from this mp4 without software...sigh next post will be the instructions

Alrighty!!! if ya own a Mp4 like the one on picture above, heres how to extract the yummy firmware from it (or software...whatever)

-Before we start, BEWARE you may accidentally format your mp4 if you keep holding the menu button!!!!, yup so watch out

OK first hold the menu button on the side and press the power button, hold em at the same time for a few seconds. then release them and quickly press the center button twice (the pause and play... >II ) something will appear on the screen that looks like this, "-M+" ok now...
Press "I<<" then press "Menu" then ">>I" (there will be another "-M+" bieng formed underneath the other "-M+" )

Now a screen should pop up saying "Press menu for format, or press any key for usbdisk" it MAY say something else "insert usb line to use usbdisk, Press any key to restart!" if you get the 1st sentence, press the center button and the 2nd sentence will appear. Either way, you will have to connect you Mp4 to the Computer using the USB Cord. Once have finally done that, the screen will say "Usb disk"

ok now with that over with, (i love commas lol) the computer will pick up 2 drives... one with stuff like "videos, music, bla bla bla" ( i dont care for that one) what im looking for is the 2nd drive that has files like "system, akresdata, magic, so on and so forth" copy those files into a seperate folder, pack em into a zip file, submit em here, and you will be worshipped as the god of the firmware (well to me that is =3 )

there you go and i hope it helps
