mohyom , do you recall your previous working firmware version number?
What happens when you plug in the USB cable? Does it function or still show the same error?

Default Re: need mp4 player firmware

Mohyom,

I just bought the same player. I was searching around trying to
figure out how to back up the firmware and I discovered the following:

If you run CheckUDisk.exe from the Downloads Section, it will identify
the USB disk. Mine found AnykaUSB. If yours is the same, search for
Anyka on the mympxplayer.org forum, look for the post by sableroku here: MP4 Players ANYKA chip.

He details the sequence to get to the bios and find the firmware.

My experience was a little different than the manual or his post. Here are the step by step details.

- Unit off, including LEDs at upper right dark
- Hold left side button (Menu)
- Plug in usb cable
- continue holding Menu for 3+ seconds
- release Menu and immediately tap and release Play
- Should get blue screen with - M +
- Press Rewind then Menu then Forward
- Warning about formatting appears

You should probably skip formatting the first time and examine what is on the 16 MB firmware drive. I pressed VOL- to skip formatting.

You should see:
SYSTEM (folder)
AkResData.Bin
TMPFILE.ALT
Magic.bin
Magic_bios.PIC
- Inside system:
BACKUP.ALT
BOOKMARK.DAT
PROFILE.DAT

Good Luck - Ray

intex , other than the camera, does the rest of the functions work? If so, there are only 2 choices to chose now.
1. Contact your seller for an exchange/refund.
2. Live without the camera function. The reason is due to that your player would likely be using a Sunplus or Anyka chipset. Which at the moment, does not have much firmware related tools.
