Default ANOTHER DEAD ONE ;-)

Hi all,
after fail fw upgrading my mp4 player is dead. The chip is CTW500 s75, flash is Samsung, fw ver. is 9.0.43 or 9.0.48, not sure. I use the files ver 9.0.43 I found here, but with dump my player freez at the begining with a glasswatch on the screen. The full version gives me an error when i try to recover, I think it is for another chip. With ver. 9.0.48 is worst - only blanc screen. Any one have working fw for me?
I think this is the correct fw for me:
http://www.mympxplayer.org/firmware-9043-df412.html
the player looks almost the same, the menu too, but when I use this dump the player freez at the begining with a glasswatch on the screen.
By the way, when I use the dump I create before upgrading, the same problem with glasswatch appears.
Will be greatfull for any help.

Predte4a , your player would as you have guessed, uses the v9.0.xx series firmwares. i'll just suggest that you continue to try every single of them for your screen size until you get it working again.

i can only think that your original working firmware would be v9.0.48, which is not supported by the extraction tool. Thus, certain files are not backed-up and even if you flashed it back to the player, those missing files would cause the hour-glass error.

Hi lattesurf ,
10x for the answer. I think you are right, the original fw was ver 9.0.48, but I try all types of this ver. on the site, and the result is same - white screen and not responding on the button clicks. Only withs some of fw files the flash memory was accessible through the PC, but the player was still not responding from it self. Only with ver. 9.0.43 I see the glasswatch in question /at last some image on the screen/, but nothing more.
When I serch the forum, I find some links with fw for CTW500 chip, but the files was removed from the server they was hosted. I wand to ask the users who was upload them to upload on another server and give a fresh url, or if you want, you can send me the fw by mail on predte4a@gmail.com.
Thanks again.

My player is always in (HS)ADFU mode and I cant upload no fw, and the fuckin glassclock is always on the screen. Is that mean that I fry my flash chip, and is there way to check this?

Predte4a , there was a thread some time back regarding this "flash is no responding" message. The person reportedly grounded a certain pin on the memory chip to stop the message from appearing. i'll try to look for that thread.

However in the meantime, what i'll suggest is to repeat the Dead Player Recovery again to short the player to re-install it as an ADFU device.

Hi lattesurf,
I`ll be greatfull if you find some way out of this nervous flash error. I try a lot of things - reseting, shorting it, changing the USB port, reinstalling device, but no success - the same "Flash is no responding". I see something else - in Dead Player Recovery guide the player is in (FS)ADFU mode. My player is in (HS)ADFU mode, so what is the difFerence?
10x again

Predte4a,I think this problem is on your hardware not on firmware.I had same problem and I check my hardware, screen and flat.after that I short flash chip and it 100% work.

Predte4a , (FS) simply means Full Speed and (HS) is High Speed. It doesn't really matter much.

Hi assoleh,
at the begining there was no problem. I just decide to upgrade my firmware, and I choose the wrong version. After that I try diferent types of firmwares with no success, until yestarday when the upgrade tool start to show the same error every time I try to upload some firmware - "Flash is no responding!" So, now I must solve the problem with this error first, and then continuing with fw search.

Hi latesurf,
I see that FS and HS does not mean anything. Today I disconnect the battery in trying to solve the flash error problem, but no success - the error still appears and I can`t upload any fw.

Will be greatfull for any help
