Shows hourglass for a couple of seconds then => tag screen of the company.
=> Main Menu (like in the pics) => shuts down automatically.

Do I have to flash it with another firmware? There's another compatible firmware someone posted here (alex?) but he has a 2" screen. Will flashing this file to a 1.8" screw it up even more?

I was quick and could check this in the options menu:

2006/12/28
9.1.51

2006/06/12
ACT2093_S75

tom99...
ur player firmware version is 9.1.51 ...i think it's not the problem with firmware...u got mp3 utilities???if so...do real format..with the software...ur player is maybe hacked

tom99 24th Aug 2007 1:38 pm

Thanks gaboon!

This made it work for a while.. Now, it's stuck again!
I'll try formatting the player again if I can get it to come up in windows xp as a removable drive.

What could be the problem? Maybe I shouldn't create any subdirectories on the player's memory..

tom99 , the firmware that you have flashed in previously might not be 100% compatible with the player's hardware, which is causing the reboots.

gaboon 24th Aug 2007 8:23 pm

yea..tom99 did u ever flashed ur player with other firmware before this?if so lattesurf is right

tom99 25th Aug 2007 3:00 am

No, I didn't flash this player before..
Anyway: I got it back to reformat.. it works again (for a while?) This time I won't be creating any folders on it..

By any chance do you have the firmware for it?
and if you do can you post it because I really need it.
I have the same nano clone and a white screen just appears everytime I turn it on.
thank you =]

The battery or regulation crystal may be poorly soldered, therefore causing the reboots. Does it reboot all of a sudden or only when you shake it a lot?

Tom, I have the exact same player. My numbers are slightly different, though. My problem is that mine will turn on, but stays at the blue screen with the hourglass. If the player is switched off, but is plugged into either a computer's USB port or the charger, it comes on by itself.

I have sent "hailitele" from eBay a message, and over 24 hours later, have still not received a response from them. If I hear nothing from that person by tomorrow evening, I am filing a formal complaint with eBay over this. I haven't had this thing a month yet...have already had to format it once because somehow all my music became corrupted.

I had attempted to follow the printout of instructions to upgrade the firmware, but was unable to.

I am about at my wits' end with this thing. My husband is getting upset. He bought it for me for my birthday, and is now saying he wasted almost $50USD for a hunk of junk.

If anybody has any ideas, please let me know. Here is the information printed on a chip inside my player:

SAMSUNG 728
K9GPCBO
FEF1078BC

I know it's a Samsung chipset, obviously. I just don't know how to fix it, except to demand a refund, and pitch it into the trash.

You got scammed by hailitele like a lot of us and there's not much to do if you have the hourglass problem. I don't know if anyone with the same type of player managed to revive it but i know i didn't and tried every single firmware available here. Unless someone found another way, you have 2 options. You can trash it and really throw 50$ away or you can follow the dead player recovery guide and use it as a usb drive at the least and that's assuming you can't in the hourglass mode. The choice is your but a usb drive is still better than a totally useless piece of metal.
