FULL firmware 9.1.51 (ACU7515) - HELP !!! I need it
 

Anybody please do help i need to get full firmware for below mp4 player:-

ACU7515
Firmware v9.1.51

same version with smarkies:

I already short-circuited my mp4 and now can be recognized as ADFU server but unfortunately i dont have the full firmware version so i can return it to normal operation, Is there any alternative full firmware for this kind of mp4.

Ask him to s1clone it and send you a dump. If you have the exact same player the dump can be s1cloned onto yours and it should work.

Hi ismaelpc.

I cant remember if it was here or at some other mpx forum, but I remember someone saying they were able to match the action chip code to a code in the download section of this forum.

They got their player working this way. I just wish I could remember where I read that.

I colored my hair ash blonde on Sunday night. I have a feeling I shouldn't have done that. lol

Currently, i flash M861 this file, i took it from this site also. the mp4 becomes flash disk :) and only flashing white screen and stop.

Looks like you're from China. Do you know if there are any full firmware versions on Chinese websites? There seem to be some active discussion boards but automated translation only gets you so far :? I would expect they've been downloaded & moved to this site but thought I'd ask just in case...

Also, I've heard varying reports about s1clone & I don't know if anyone has successfully restored a "dead" player with it. I received an s1clone from someone who'd bought an identical player but have not been able to restore mine from it. :(

These are all the Actions ACU7515 official firmwares, complete with source code and everything. I have no idea how to assemble/build them and flash to the device though.
They're ~12M each so I'll only download them by request (from Actions server).

If you can get the part # of the display I may be able to find the correct driver for it. If U disk mode functioning, that means the firmware compatible with the CPU but display driver is wrong.

If you can upload them to the site (after compressing them to .zip or .rar), that would help a lot.

I'm sure there are a lot of members here who might be able to recover their players with the firmware.

well... i have about 1000 mp3 uploaded to it... it only lists having 3 directories and it plays like half of the MP3 that are on it... most are corrupt...

Ideas?

The hy27ut088g2m is an 8 gigabit chip i.e. 1 gigabyte.

ismaelpc, admin, if you want the firmwares you have to pick one to try first, I'm not going to download them all if result you can't use!

That sounds great. Obviously difficult to know which one if any will work for my player but probably it will be one of the 9.1.51 versions. Do you have to register as a user on this website? Or is there just a download link? Please let us know how we can try these - if you can upload them thats great, if not I'm sure I or someone else on this forum will gladly take your instructions and do it. I do believe these will be very helpful to lots of people!

OK. Downloading them now.

I reckon these packages will be very useful in the hands of someone who understands the technical issues better than me, so if there any technical programming wizrds out there reading this, then grab these files (see Lolita's last post). I did however manage to compile 2 firmware files (.fw) from the tools included but neither of those worked with my player (in fact they both put it into adfu mode). So I'm a bit nervous about uploading these because of this. If anybody does want to have a go, then let me know & I'll upload them somewhere.
In the wider perspective though, there is a huge amount of source code etc in these so I'm sure they could help unravel some of the mysteries. I appreciate Lolita they took a long time to download, but I do reckon if you can also download the other ones too then this would be for the greater good.
I'm still searching for my elusive firmware but I think Lolita has identified a very useful source of information & software/firmware. Well done

Lolita, i am a programmer. If you snap me enough sources I think I can fix bugs in them and even try to make an universal operating system. All I need is 9.1.51, ACT2093_S75 for 2" screen firmware source for my player so I can test it out. I searched the firmware sources for long time now and if you help me I think I can help all of us.

Please tell me if you can upload the fw's somewhere :).

I recommend you download the files provided above to see if you really understand the source code before requesting more firmware.

"i am a programmer" -- may be, but you need to knows the embedded system method, Z80 assemble languages and C, also the hardware architecture.

I manage to compile and create firmware but when i'm flashing it to my mp4 using MP3 Utilities v 3.68 it gives me an error 'invalid firmware upgrade"

i'm still trying to figure out what else missing from the created firmware.

Hi! Well you are definately right. I do not use C in my daily work, I am a PureBasic programmer, however the languages are not so different. I have 4 years experience so far and I even developed security software. But nothing about embedded systems and no Z80 unfortunately. I understand some of the code but not all. I think you're right about this, there is no need to have too much sourcecode if we are stuck with it. Anyway you are a pioneer and I'm sure the guys at s1mp3.org that created the SWAN API could use this code. Let me ask you something: Can I give the sourcecode to those programmers there or I am not allowed?

Oh, and wouldn't it be possible to create a library to use in the operating system that would require the LCD and the chipset to identify and simply load the required drivers and then the operating system files? Exactly like Windows XP does. There are literally thousands of graphic cards, network cards, motherboards, but Windows can handle them all with different drivers in a pack.

Yup,

We need some people to create the base, the low level part (drivers, the kernel API) and then we can create the graphical interface and the main programs on them. I am getting in touch with some friends that fiddled with some of these things and i hope they can help us. I'll keep you informed.

It is (c) Actions Semiconductor Co, Ltd. and available to authorise distributor of Acions.

This is a 24MHz 8-bit CPU with 8Kb of RAM and several MB of space for firmware only. It is not a PC.

Yes, I only said that with proper software identification this whole thing would be possible. However I do not have the knowledge to modify it yet.

Out of interest, has anyone managed to revive their player with this firmware package Lolita has provided? When I compiled the firmware from it, it produced a .fw file which reading around seems to indicate it is probably a full factory version, so should work on the matching players.
Lolita, any chance you could download s75_release_v9.1.51nodrm_070215.rar please? My chip is ACU7515_S75 so I think it might be the one.
I will upload the firmware file once I have compiled it.

Yes, generally .fw files are an indication of a FULL firmware file.

However, due to many variations (example, different manfacturers making request to have slight changes to the firmware to the chipset manufacturer), it could not be completely compatible with all players.

ismaelpc, Did you make any progress with this? I'm still not getting anywhere. I was rather hoping Lolita would upload all he could find on his Actions website but he seems to have disappeared from view :roll:
Oh well I have a 1GB pen drive which plays MP3s but has unreadable screen. So close but yet so far :!:

Alex, yes, most give partial success but screen driver not 100% compatible. In fact these are mainly 9.0.48 versions not as listed 9.0.50.
My chip is a AK1022 which I believe is a rip off of an ACU7515 or ACT2097_S75. It's the 2" 220 x 176 screen which I have which seems to be the problem. I can get "partially blind" functionality with a number of firmware files. Lolita has suggested the Uxcell firmware/screen driver, but I've tried the ones from Uxcell site (no good) & I've no idea how to extract the Uxcell screen drivers & put into one of the partially successful firmwares.

I now have an hourglass (although player is adfu) so possibly have a fw version with the correct display drivers. Now, the big question is which drivers to change.....? Any ideas?
