Default [solved] New M6 Dead after 1 week with no firmware upgrades

My new M6 8gb arrived about 10 days ago from mp4nation and seemed to be working fine. I did not do any Firmware upgrades or System changes at all. Just loaded it up with about 2gb of music and a vid.

Suddenly after trying to stop a track, the screen blacks out and will not come up.. ever. My computer still picked it up and i was able to browse through the folders. Then as per instruction manual, I used windows to format.. Now nothing at all works. I can still pick it up from the computer but none of the firmwares seem to be taking... and my player is absolutely non-responsive!

Do I need to find the FULL firmware version??

Why did this happen to a brand new player, and what can i do to ensure it doesn't happen again??

If you are able to still browse your M6 in Explorer then it is on and possibly just frozen. Try holding down the enter button at the bottom of the touch strip for 60 seconds or so to reset the player.

Nice it works!! Thanks!

After letting it sit for an hr, I came back and was able to do a full factory reset. I guess it had just froze.

Phew ..

I got a bit ahead of myself by reading all of the M6 issues on this site...

Good stuff. Generally a lockup occurs with incorrectly encoded video or corrupted ID3 tags on audio files.
