I bought thomson EM2801a Player some time ago and one day, player shows me some disk errors ... i found firmware on website and tried to upgrade it but something goes wrong and my player dies , now i cant turn it on, when i connect it to USB i see only: connect(after 10 sec).....disconect(after 10 sec)....connect(after 10 sec). I can't instal firware again now besouse UPGRADING PROGRAM cant find my player.... I found solution in internet >how tu make recovery mode< and ... i make recovery mode... now computer detect player as 'Player recovery device class'... and Firmware upgrading program(by thomson) works and instal firmware but nothing changes....

Siemion , the problem lies in your player using a Sigmatel chipset. There are not many firmwares available, but there are a few in the downloads section here http://www.mympxplayer.org/sigmatel-firmware-dc36.html

I know, but i even can't try them becouse ''SigmaTel MSCN Audio Player' shows 'unable to write firmware file' only Thomson Firmware Upgrade (program looks likes SigmaTel MSCN Audio Player) program write firmware.. but nothing changes...
.. meybe there is some metod to split this two programs they have almost the same files with diffrents sizes...
