almal , what type of player do you have? Is it a thumbdrive styled player or an ipod clone? A picture of it would be good.

almal , first thing your player was hacked. The Hynix HY27UF082G2A is a 2Gigabit (256MegaByte) memory chip, not 512MB. Unless you have 2 of these chips in the player.

Can your player be detected by MP3 Utilities Upgrade Tool currently?

almal , what you'll need to do now is to try all the v3.5.35 and v3.5.37 firmwares here
v3.5.35 http://www.mympxplayer.org/actions-3535-dc15.html
v3.5.37 http://www.mympxplayer.org/actions-3537-dc16.html

As there is no way to tell which firmware would work with your player, you'll need to try all those for your screen size one by one until you get a working firmware.

There are many v3.5.xx firmwares, so you stand a better chance at recovering. good luck.
