Detailed description and pics of my dead player, help please!

i bought this on ebay , it was meant to be 4gb but its 1 gb

i got a partial refund so i was happy for the price i payed, but its just been 2 weeks and its died, was stuck on the hourglass screen, but now just blue screen because i tried various firmwares from here.

i've spent all day yesterday on this site and others ,used the tweezer shorting method, tried various firmwares, the best i can get is that the computer detects it as a removable drive and it shows a blue screen

the features it has are mp3 player, videos (when converted to amv) FM radio, pictures, voice recorder, radio recorder, some games, and phone book

I'll describe how it used to look, when you start it up, it says "welcome" with that text coming out of a pool of water, when you shut it down, it says " bye bye" with that text animated too.

the menus were on the left with animated icons on the right.

i think it may be connected to this kind of player or firmware in this link, as the graphics and style are very similar http://www.mympxplayer.org/dload.php...le&file_id=240

but the site for that has dead firmware links!
http://www.visual-land.com/faq.html

i also tried some of these firmwares here

as the page mentions the same chip number on mine, it mentions
Samsung 643
K9G8G08U0M , but mine is

Samsung 725
K9G8G08U0M

but they didnt work, so i guess i need the one for 725

here's pics of my player and you can clearly see the chip details,
any help at all would be much much appreciated!! thanks

I just got the same problem yesterday, just happened out of the blue, not changing firmware or anything. Comes up with a blue screen, nothing else, still reads fine as a drive, the mp3 player utility still says it has firmware 9.0.50, still turns off if you hold menu, but I can't use the bloody thing!

As stated, mine's 9.0.50, also running K9K8G08U0M 1GB memory, "S1 Mp3 Player", "Wilson Co. Ltd"

So, what to do??
Any thoughts on whether I should just try throwing various firmwares at it, and see what sticks?
If so, any links to said prefered firmwares?

Obviously, being 9.0.50, I don't have a firmware backup.

is it the same player as my pictures?

Externally looks the same, internals are oriented differently; in fact mine almost looks like the entire layout around the processor and memory has been copied and pasted 180degrees to yours (if I hold mine upside down, most of the circuitry is almost identical).
